owned demilitarization firm (dismantling of ordnance for the Department of Defense). The position
involves RCRA permitting for on-site explosives dispos33al facilities along with startup and operation of
the facilities. It also involves the design, startup and operation of procedures and equipment to safely
dismantle bombs, land mines, artillery shells and other forms of munitions.
Accomplishments:
Startup of Supercritical Water Oxidation Process (hazardous waste treatment)
Obtained ISO 14000 Certification for the importation of explosives.
Designed equipment and procedures to safely dismantle 155 mm propellant charges, cluster bombs,
blockbuster bombs, mortar shells and land mines.
2006 – 2009 Alcan Pharmaceutical Packaging – Millville, NJ
EHS/ISO Manager – Glass Tubing Americas
Managed the EHS and ISO functions for seven manufacturing sites in the US and Canada. Glass Tubing
Americas manufactured glass tubes, ampoules and vials for the medical injectable industry. The position
included administration of Title V, injury reduction via Lean and Behavioral Based Safety initiatives.
Additionally, ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 certifications were obtained for the Canadian facility.
Accomplishments:
Implemented Behavioral Based Safety Program along with Lean Manufacturing Principles – lowered
injury rate from 5+ to less than 1 in two years.
Obtained ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 Certification for Canadian manufacturing site.
Successfully negotiated permit applicability change for New Jersey Glass Furnace from power generation
category to industrial category for Title V.
