Activity Director

Primary job function consisted of acting as the manager, planner, coordinator, and facilitator of all recreational and entertainment activities for over 200 residents of the Independent Living, Assisted Living and Care Center facilities. This responsibility required the organizational skills necessary to maintain calendars and schedules, the ability to communicate with outside entities for booking various entertainment venues, and the ability to maintain and work within a $75K Activity Department expense budget.

Supervised 9 activity aides, 3 transportation workers, 200 volunteers and was also responsible for staff work schedules, training and performance reviews.

Facilitated and coordinated all travel and logistics for entertainment trips, shopping, and doctor appointments for the residences of the facility, which also included maintaining expense reports and travel logs.

Responsible for the development of Care Plans for the residents, which included meeting with family members to explain the plans in detail.

Additional responsibilities included handling public relations and administrative duties, assisting residents with problems or complaints.

Assists in recruiting new residents for the facility.

Acting manager on duty for the entire campus one weekend per month, which also entailed conducting facility tours for prospective new residents and their families.
