Director of Operations and Supply Chain Management

Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer, manage operations and supply chain activities, including purchasing, planning, inventory management, contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineering, and logistics for $18MM Ophthalmic Laser Division of $1.2BB international company. Provide technical and managerial leadership in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, procurement, and logistics.

Develop consistent metrics, reports, and communication tools with key business partners, including global divisions and suppliers. Participate in supply base negotiations including costing and contract manufacturing; use metric based analysis to support operational improvements and to develop strategic plans / investments; and serve as liaison to outside agencies, including regulatory agencies.

Accomplishments:

Integrated overseas divisions medical equipment (slit lamps, and tables) into PASCAL medical laser systems. Using Lean and Kaizen principles, integrated startup processes into highly sophisticated manufacturing entity, maximizing floor space, improving throughput, and reducing labor costs. Increased manufacturing productivity by 25% with existing headcount in same floor space, facilitating expanding sales in new global markets.
