Job Description

Monitor effluent water quality passing from mill to City Water Reclamation Plant

Operate equipment used to remove paper fiber from effluent water and collect it for disposal other than the City Water Reclamation Plant.

Maintenance and upkeep of all of the equipment used in the Solids Recovery Plant

Monitored chemical usage and monitored chemical levels in the system storage vessels.

Report to mill management and City Water Reclamation Plant Operators on Clarity and Quality of effluent water.

Job Title

Shipping/Receiving Lead man

A working supervisor in the shipping/receiving department of Mohawk Fine Papers Beckett Mill.

Instruct and guide coworkers in the performance of their duties receiving raw Materials or in preparing finished product to be shipped to another Mohawk facility or direct to customer facilities.

To gather and organize shipments (truckloads) and schedule pick-up appointments to make sure the orders were shipped in time to meet delivery appointments at the receiving destination.

Prepare the Bills of Lading for each truckload as it shipped and to prepare daily mill reports showing shipments sent out to customers and to other Mohawk facilities.

Work with accounting department in tracking incoming and outgoing materials in order to maintain accurate inventory records, (including periodical physical inventories of all materials).

Machine Room (Papermaking Department, line of progression position)

Operate the paper machine in a safe and productive manner in order to produce a high quality product in as much volume as possible.

Set-up the machinery to run the desired orders and produce the size of rolls needed by the converters for producing finished sizes of cartoned paper for the end user (customer).

Practice good safety practices and perform all preventative maintenance on all equipment in the production line.

Job-Title

Folio sheeter/tandem embosser operator

Operate sheeter/embosser equipment to produce a finished, packages product according to customer order and specifications

Make adjustments to machinery as needed to maintain operating speeds or correct quality issues.

Change or replace machine parts, rolls,belts,guides,slitters knives,etc. as needed to maintain a high quality product.

Work with maintenance employees to facilitate addition repairs that may have been needed.

Additional Skills / Education /Qualifications

High School Diploma

Local Union Officer for several years. Labor relations training including contract administration and negotiation. Financial officer training including accounting practices and reporting, auditing procedures and tax filing procedures.

Technical training program seminar through International Paper for creating a method of personnel training on all jobs within the mill.

Certified color observer trained in all processes of matching the color of paper to standard provided by the customers.

Various computer education courses including basic Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Manufacturing skills assessment testing completed through Workforce One.

MSSC Cerified through Stanly Community College, Albemarle, North Carolina 28001, Studying Manufacturing Skill Standards Council, and Certified Production Technician Certificate.

Also Cerified Logistics Technician and also certified in Green Manufacturing through Stanly Community College.
