Stanford University R&DE Capital Planning & Project Management

April 2011 to
Present
Stanford University signed with me to put a Backlog Initiative
Program together. This was special funding made for the lion's
share of the program to support the process for years to come as
funding becomes available at those times. My program consisted
of three parts to the first phase of Backlog Initiative
construction: First was to set budgets on projects and execute
as many projects as possible the first year in accordance with
the applicable Stanford aging outline that would meet the
criteria of backlog. Second to initiate and support projects
that would need Scoping and Architectural design plans to build
in the near future "Summer of 2012" Third was to set up multi
scale schedules and evaluate future projects, based on Survey
reports that had been collected in prior years.
There by building a master schedule of projects that would be
set to complete in the next ten years as funding became
available.
. The Program Backlog Initiative was funded with Twenty
Seven Million Dollars. First two years of completing aging
projects that covered a wide array of student housing
renovations dealing with Health, Life Safety, Plant
Maintenance older than twenty years.
. My first year was to prioritize work, develop a program to
cover as much of the multiple, various types of tasks
projects with beginning budget. Complete some of those
projects as possible.
. My second year was fine tuning the scopes of the projects
and continues projects that were already in design to
complete in summer of 2013. As well as start other
projects with the knowledge of either completing during
this fiscal year or trending into 201 4 and years
thereafter.
. Completing all within budgets this turned out to be more
difficult than risks I had accounted for in my plan while
I was still able to complete 32 projects.
. The buildings were over sixty years old an older I was
successful at completing projects on time however four
projects ran over their budget. I had to make adjustments
to cover which took away from the program of starting new
projects sooner.
. Development Team Projects for the next fiscal year and
years thereafter with annual budget up 27 Million each
year. The University is working to secure funding for this
year as well as 80 Million for the next ten years.
. Communicate with government agencies and associations
. Communicate with Stakeholders campus wide and Students
. Lead and direct teams in a variety of 32 projects,
adjusting strategies
effectiveness for these multiple campus projects.
