BCA Project: Online Shopping Portal

Title: Order Information System

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: To create a portal selling Computers and peripherals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

. Developing and maintaining applications using JSP and Oracle as front-end

and back-end

. Forms were created using HTML and the connectivity was done with the help

of Tomcat Apache Server.

. Involved in designing Flow Chart and ER Diagrams.

MCA Project: Transportation Planning System for ITS Dept, TATA STEEL.

Title: Transportation Planning System

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project was implemented in the ITS Dept of Tata

Steel. Part of the Tata Sheet STARS project (Shipment, Transport and Raw

Material System), the Transportation Planning System was implemented to

convert production plan into dispatch plan considering the lead time from

production to material and uploading in DATABASE for various products and

grades. Generation of compliance report for dispatch plan based on

production schedule against dispatch plan as per order balance (which is

promised to customer) was a key feature.

Improved ability to meet transportation capacity requirements by providing

forward visibility

. Reduced variability in dispatch

. Better forecasting of required resource

. Consolidated planning for overall dispatches for Tata Steel

. Better wagon planning to reduce turnaround time
