(I) Sales Order Processing System and Inventory Management for Wipro

Sytems Software Products Division.

Project Title: Sales Order Processing System - (S.O.P.S)

Platform/Tools: Paradox - 5 for Windows, Delphi for key entry screens

and processes Client: Software Products Marketing Group of Wipro

Infotech Group

Bangalore, India Period: October '94 to August '95

Description: Development of a Sales Order Processing System to

automate and integrate the operations of the Software Products

Marketing Division comprising the Head Office located at Bangalore and

six Regonal Offices with a 60 reseller national network. This system

would track orders coming in from various clients routed through the

dealer/channel network and maintain a virtual stock master which would

be updated online to give an exact picture of the actual stocks in the

Inventory. Shortfalls would be detected when fastmoving stocks touch a

minimum stock level and raise warnings to the respective product

managers to raise Indent through the system. The SOPS system also

incorporated an Inventory manager to track all movement of stocks

between warehouses besides adhoc transfers Purchase Orders to the

respective Principals could also be raised and material receipts would

be taken into stock on hand. The system also incoporated a host of MIS

reports to calculate incentives for Resellers and Marketing Executives

who achieved their predetermined targets. SOPS also generated batch

process reports on product costing and Stock registers for statistical

purposes and Audits. The system integrated the operations of all

Offices in the country using electronic data transfer and thus saving

on redundant data entry.

Position: Systems Engineer Contribution:

Design and Development of the various modules of the project,

interacting with the various departments and Regions and integrating

the operations. I was also responsible for testing of the system and

maintenance of the system, implementation and bug fixing &

documentation. Team Size: Three. Currently working on Oracle to

convert the above system to a Client Server configuration with Oracle

as Back-end and Delphi as the front end (1.5 months).

(II) Clinical Monitoring and Evaluation Package.

Project: C.L.E.M. Client: Continental Health Care Systems, Denver.

Period: Aug. '95 onwards. (5 month project). Description: CLEM is a

module of a bigger hospital automation package which deals with the

automation of the entire operations of hospitals, from Therapy related

assistance to Doctors, to movement and Inventory control of drugs in

stock. The CLEM system pertains to Clinical monitoring of patients in

the hospitals, using criteria of Location (where the patient lies),

the standard regimen adopted for his disease type, on-line assistance

with archived records, physicians intervention records, critical

patient inclusion into Intensive care units and databases for

different types of reports from cost of medication to statistical

reports on disease types and medication adopted for their cure.

(III) Training Simulator Project At the Indian Institute of Technology

- Bombay Aug '92 to April '94.

Project: Training Simulator to study the Effect of Grid Transients in

Nuclear power plants. Client: B.A.

R.C - Bombay. Period: August 1992 to

April 1995

. Description: This project was carried out at IIT Bombay to

build a prototype on a PC, of a training simulator for a nuclear

plant. Plant trainees could get a hang of the real Atomic plant

simulator, by being able to take corrective action on user-defined

faults programmable into the system.The job was one of a "C"

programmer and involved preparation of a mathematical model of the

system to be implemented using numerical methods of simulation.

Iterative methods and numerical methods of calculus were used in the

programing. Position: C Programmer. Contribution: Coding of the

C-libraries for the project in addition to mathematical modelling and

design work. Team Size: 3 Environment: PC - 486 (DOS)

(IV) Provident Fund package prepared for the Accounts Department of

Wipro Sytems

to Oct. '94. Description: This project was executed as an

additional feature on the existing Payroll package. The PF-System

extracted information from the employee payroll master database and

deducted standard amounts from the individuals salary and debited the

same to a common account. It had additional features to be accessed by

employees of the organisation for getting to know the exact tax

liability and amount balance as of date. The system also generated

reports for the employees for monthly and quarterly account

statements.
