Fanuc Robotics, Contract with Simplified Employment, Rochester Hills, MI, Jul. 1999 – Jun. 2001

DesignerTasked to work on team in the development and testing of designs for paint robots and other mechanical aid devices. Designed a wide variety of cast, welded, and single-piece components for use in structural, drive, pneumatic, and wiring applications. One aspect of my duties included, creation of manufacturing and assembly drawings, applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) as appropriate. Worked and interacted with the in-house manufacturing staff and outside suppliers in the development of new designs tools and tooling to aid in the manufacturing of the products. Designed prototype assemblies to aid in verify/examine new concepts. Tasked with the completion of backlog of four years of engineering changes and completed said changes in six months. Gained design experience in a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites. Programs used at this company were Solid Works version 98-Plus through version 2001 design software for three-dimensional (3D) modeling and two-dimensional (2D) drawing creation. Set up parametric models for varying component configurations using MS Excel, and ANSI standards.

Designer / DetailerAssigned to Worked on development team in the design of new pump. Tasked to Work with Engineer in the designed new products, and Engineer changes. Part of my duties included using Solid works to create 3D models and 2D detail drawings from assembly drawings. While working on drawings and models GD&T was applied to all work. Converted hardcopy drawings to electronic drawings, and subsequently created 3D solid models. Set up parametric models for different pump versions using MS Excel. Programs used were Solid Works version 98-Plus and AutoCAD r13 and r14 design software. Worked with manual ink drawing on Mylar using the ANSI standards.

Bosch Automation, Contract with Aero-Tek, Buchanan, MI, Feb. 1998 – Nov. 1998

Detailer / DraftsmanWhile working with engineering design team I created 2D detail and assembly drawings. Detailed components and created assemblies using Pro-Engineer (Pro-E) design software, release 17. Detail drawings to include the use of GD&T. Duties as assigned by the engineer included converting older hardcopy drawings to electronic files using AutoCAD program.
