Responsibilities:
Software Feature Testing & Product Validation as per the specifications
of following equipments:
STM-1(OC-3), STM4 (OC-12) & STM16(OC-48)SDH/SONET Systems.
My Responsibility starts from writing a comprehensive test plan based
on ITU-T Recommendations and the customer requirement.Based
on
the test plan I test the equipment and generate a trouble report.Once
the
problem is debugged and solved and a new software release is given,I
again do a regression test to avoid any sideeffects.I use the HP-UNIX
work station for the testing and debugging purpose.
So far I have tested following Software modules-
1.Security Management:
tested that only the authorised user can login into the system. Check
for the
different categories of the user like the Super user, preveiledged
and the ordinary users.
2.Configuration Mangement
tested that the System works successfully in following two configurations
as per
ITU-T recommendation ITU-T G.707,G.783,Ring Configuration, Linear
Configuration,Hub topology.
3.Fault Management.
Tested for the proper detection and proper reporting of alarms as per
the
recommendation ITU-T G.783 and ITU-T G.707 like LOS,LOF,LOP,MS-
RDI,MS-AIS,TULOP, H4 ERROR,TU-LOP,TU-RDI etc.
4.Performance Management.
Tested for the proper reporting of all the performance parameters as
per ITU-T
G.783/G.784
Alongwith the above features I have tested successfully the Remote
Login feature,Protection Switching and the addressing schemes of the Network
elements.
I use the HP-UNIX debugger terminals to see the message flow and help
in fault Debugging.

Job Responsibilities:
Software & hardware parametric Feature Testing,Validation and
System offering to Department of Telecommunication,INDIA, of CDMA
based WIRELESS IN LOCAL LOOP Equipment.
My responsibilities included writing test cases based on the
Product
Requirement Specification, testing the different features as
per the test
cases, generating the Trouble Action Report, interacting
with the
concerned Software Devolopment team or the H/w Devolopment team
and explaining them the problems mentioned in theTrouble Action report
by reproducing those testing environment under which the problem was
reported.Finally I verify the solved problems on getting the fresh
release
of the Software .To check for any sideeffects due to problem solving
I
do the Regression Testing with the final release.
