o In office outpatient therapist with a case load of ten clients in a community mental health facility. Caseload consisted of child, adolescents, families, and adults. Pre-dominately Caucasian and Hispanic.

o Guest lecturing on Career development administering MBTI.

o Researched on how to empower minorities from lower social economic status.

o Wells Center, Substance Abuse Counselor :July 2006- August 2007

o Theoretic Orientation: AA based stages of change, and CBT.

o Department of Corrections served population of non-violent males aging from 17-36 and a case load of 15 -20, except when understaffed 60-75 clients.

o Led substance abuse groups that focused on addiction, prevention planning, anger management, spirituality, 12 steps of recovery and meditation.

o Provided individual counseling, focusing on issues of incarceration and prevention planning on release.

o Completed intake interviews that assessed for suicide, past abuse, clients strengths and drug history. Diagnosis was made based on initial interview.

o Treatment plans were developed based on intake interview and any past participa-tion in a 12 step program.

o Progress notes where conducted bi-weekly using The Stages of Change.

o Discharge summaries were based on completion of goals and on going treatment when released from DCO.

o Family Counseling Center, Youth Counselor :March 2006-July 2006:

o Counseled children ages 5 " 17 and a case load of 25 families.

o Counseled children who were sexually abused, juveniles, runaways, and sexual perpetrators.

o Diagnoses ranged from borderline personality disorder, anti-social personality disorder, ODD, CD, and bipolar.

o Individual and family counseling provided each week.

o Completed intake interviews for Federal Grants to help pay for services.

o Performed mental health evaluations that evaluated current mental status, mental health history, past or current suicidal ideations or attempts, family history, and treatment goals

o Based on MHE gave an Axis 5 diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress notes after contact with client.

o Responsible for Crisis intervention. On-call weekdays, weeknights, and weekends for clients who might need hospitalization. The client was evaluated and if symp-tom did not become manageable, then client was hospitalized. During hospitaliza-tion, there would be daily contact with the hospital and weekly visits to the client.

o Women's Center, Child Care Provider: August 2004 - December 2005:

o Provided childcare for children with Autism.

o Helped increase positive social skills like manors, non-violent play, discipline with out violence, and positive communication skills.

o Tutored grade school children with reading, writing, and math.

o Helped empower children who were struggling with anger management, concen-tration, and declining grades.

o Guest Lecture : How to Connect with Mandated Clients: November 2006 and April 2007

o Gave an hour and fifteen minute lecture on counseling incarcerated males who have addictions. Was a guest lecture for an Adolescent Psychology Course
