Project Summary: - For improving the risk profile on all John Hancock products, LTC Product Management did a comprehensive morbidity study and assessment of the LTC products, rate and Claim experience. As these findings confirm the need for an Inforce rate change which led then to decide for a re-rate initiative with LTC products was triggered. For supporting this, the operations department wanted Work management systems (which is currently known as CSC workbench tools Project) is to implement unified Workflow for all 2010 Re-rate activity. The workflow will be used for Call Center & Policyholder Services for reporting on activity, processing times, call statistics and overall program metrics will be generated from the workflow system. The workflow must fit into overall business unit approach, with the goal of a long-term workflow solution for operations, post Re-rate project. The Workflow has been developed on BPM Architecture which uses PEGA tools.

My responsibilities included:

Study of Organizational internal architecture and processes and owned the testing process as QA lead.

Managed and analyzed requirements and testing phase towards identifying mutually agreed solutions with technical teams and business partners.

Managed the delivery of team size of 6 members

Estimated the target system with estimation techniques like Test case point, complexity point.

Feasibility study for strategic initiatives and develop Test Plan and Strategy

Determine the Business impact by performing impact analysis.

Prepared the Test plan/strategy and facilitated walkthrough sessions with the project team

Analyzing the database for test data generation.

Identify gaps and perform risk analysis

Define project specific process and propose test methodology

Prepared and reviewed test scenarios, test cases, test summary report and conducting walkthrough sessions with the project management team.

Achievements:

Apart from my responsibilities, I took an initiative to be part of requirement understanding session that was organized by the business users, by which I was able to understand the layout of the future system as well as provided my inputs towards test feasibility during early phases wherein my suggestion and data points were well acclaimed. I also suggested for automating various similar processes.

Second issue that I was able to give solution was that, this project dealt with multiple applications with multiple stakeholders which were partially connected and the documentation was not centralized. The solution was to use a test management tool which will help in saving documentation and centralization. In this context I have used the tool to save different requirement documents in a logical format, found relationship between applications, maintained traceability of the test cases to requirements and automated the generation reports.

Finally the project had a very stringent timelines with huge requirements to be accomplished. I did a risk analysis and used Agile Test methodology. I also incorporated risk based testing to meet the deadline and the project turned out to be a huge success for which I received several accolades.
