To whom it may concern:
Enclosed is a resume summarizing my background, qualifications, and work
experience. My 39 years experience in the field of mechanical drafting and
piping design should make me a valuable asset to your company needs.
My extensive experience in the field and in various disciplines acquired
through out my career has provided me with the opportunity to help upcoming
young engineers in becoming more valuable to the companies I have had the
privilege of working for by stimulating their imagination with creative and
simple solutions to their still rough skills. My desire is to become
associated with a firm that requires a competent and trustworthy
individual, capable of contributing substantially to overall company
operations and development.
I'm presently available, should you have a present need for a man with my
qualifications. I would appreciate a personal interview at your earliest
convenience, to discuss present or future employment.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours truly,
Victor Garcia

Clean Energy Renewable Fuels - Bio-Methane Div.
Seal Beach, California
Title: Principal Designer
Project: Sauk Trail Hills Landfill
This is a 4,000 CFM landfill gas purification project where gas is
extracted from an existing trash mount, the methane gas is then separated,
scrubbed and clean and then put into the existing gas company's
distribution line where it can be compressed or liquefied to supply fuel to
trucks or automobiles.
As a Principal Designer I was responsible for creating Smart P&IDs using
Cadworx P&ID Professional, modeling the plant in Cadworx Plant
Professional, extracting isos, create, plot plans, transposition plans,
equipment location plans, arquitectural, structural and foundation plans,
line list, and all the material specs used in modeling pipe.
Feb 2008 to July 2011
Fluor - Power & Energy Div.
Long Beach, California
Title: Piping Engineering Lead / Design Specialist
Project: Tesoro LAR - Cogen & Boiler replacement.
This is a 40 megawatt power generating addition to the refinery to meet the
AQMD's more stringent requirements to the gasses release to the atmosphere.
It basically consists of a gas turbine generator, a heat recovery steam
generator, boilers, steam turbine generator and a water demineralization
system and all the peripherals associated with the equipment.
As an engineering lead I was responsible for the creation of an activity
plan, drafting room instructions, a job book for designers that contains
specifications and standards and fabrication details. Also part of my
responsibilities are to maintain a control level schedule to keep track of
manhours spent as well as doing job walks and meetings with the client to
identify and discuss solutions to problems detected by my team. We also did
3D (in SPR as this job was done in PDS) model reviews were we showed the
client our progress and where we discussed any and all technical details of
the job which included all disciplines, such as process, piping,
instrumentation, civil and structural.
As a Design Specialist I was responsible for the layout, design and iso
generation of the water treatment and demineralization unit. I was also
responsible for the tie-ins located in the Amine unit for the Marathon
coker conversion project in Detroit Michigan. The massive size of this
project required to make field trips to gather all the necessary
information. I'm glad to say that I completed my responsibilities ahead of
schedule by at least three months.
Oct 2006 to Feb 2008
Worley Parsons
Long Beach, California
Title: Supervising Designer / Principal Designer
Project: Shell Oil - FCCU Wash Water turn around, phases I, II & III.
This was an upgrade to increase production by being able to separate the
water that is generated by the fractionating tower at a higher rate of
flow.
My responsibility was to design in Auto Plant, a 3D software Acad Base
program all the equipment and piping of the project. I supervised two
designers to help me in the field to identify tie-in locations, supports,
and possible obstructions from existing electrical and instrumentation
equipment. My design was done in 3D and then I extracted all the isometrics
that then were modified and finished by my designers. I was also
responsible to create an engineering package that had to be approved by the
client. The package contained all the material specification for each
individual line class, a written document outlining the scope of work and a
complete sequence of erection that the constructor was to adhere to during
the turn around phase of the project. At the turn around I had to be
available to answer questions and create a punch list to make sure all the
work was performed to the client's satisfaction.
Feb 2006 to Sep 2006
TJCross
Bakersfield, California
Title: Principal Designer
Project: Chevron - Oil Separation and Water Treatment
This was mostly a water treatment project to neutralize contaminants from
the water that was separated from the oil after being extracted from the
ground.
At the beginning I was given the responsibility to design and layout the
filter press unit and to do it with the use of Acad 2006. When the project
manager realized my capabilities he asked me to supervise my piers and to
help them out in their part of the project which I did gladly. Besides
doing my design part of the work, I help my colleges in finishing the
design and layout of the piping for the neutralization tanks, solids
precipitator, cooling tower, cooling tower pump system, and the chemical
injection and replenishment systems as well as all the preliminary
structural design for the filter press building and tanks ladders and
platforms. Underground piping and safety shower & eyewash potable water
distribution system were also part of my responsibility.
Assign to the Brightburn Energy project, I was responsible for the layout
and design of 2 sets of pods with 16 oil well heads each as well as
interfacing with the oil separation unit associated with it. These oil
wells were located in the Orcutt Hills oil fields in the Santa Barbara
County.

Title: Project Manager/Drafting Designer
Projects: Ford/Visteon in Indiana, Pratt & Whitney in Tijuana, Mexico,
Fairchild Dornier in Houston Tx, Lucas Aircraft in Fargo North Dakota,
Intel in northern California and a few others during my employment with
Walgren.
My duties and responsibilities involved equipment location and plant layout
drafting using Acad 2004, job walks, construction supervising and
mechanical drafting of different disciplines. For electrical I drew single
line diagrams and installation drawings, for electronics I drew circuits
and designed ladder logic interlock diagrams, for structural I designed and
drew platforms and hoist structures, for architectural I drew buildings and
additions, for piping I designed and layout piping and equipment for
anodizing lines and water treatment plants, for process I drafted the
Process and Instrumentation as well as the utility flow diagrams and
finally for mechanical I design and drafted pneumatic and hydraulic systems
as well as kinematic mechanims and hoists.
The following are a list of other companies I worked for that complete the
