Team Lead for State of Florida projects, managed a distributed group of 5-10 Network Engineers from multiple departments in orchestrating large enterprise network rollouts, reconfiguration, and upgrades.
Network Nodes of 1500, departments involved were Network Operations Center (NOC), Provisioning, & Facilities.
Project Management functions generally involved budgeting new upgrades/rollouts, understanding and appropriating the right head-count for given projects, documentation of project including change management information, coordinating between other departments for use of facilities and engineers, and balancing work-load among engineers.
Redesigned & supported consumer ADSL network, developed business ADSL network, and implemented RAS services with Cisco AS5200 and AS5300 platforms.
Lab testing of Cisco Router code for enterprise-wide deployment & lab simulation of large WANs for testing
Redesign, deployment, configuration, upgrading, testing, and management of Managed Router Service (MRS) multiprotocol product offering. This consisted of WANs (up to 1000 remote nodes per WAN - Cisco, Nortel/Bay, 3Com, & Cabletron) with new technologies such as ATM-IMA, Smart Frame-Relay, Wireless access, and ADSL.
Implemented dual-homed ISP connections with BGP4 for this network. Almost all IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP4, RIP/RIP2, EIGRP, IGRP, NLSP, & IPX RIP were used across these networks in support of large entprise customers.
Design of VPN product offerings (GRE, L2TP, & IPsec tunnels, MPLS VPNs, and Cisco Firewall Feature Set)
Qos mechanisms such as MPLS & BGP QoS were utilized to control traffic flow on the network, Voice and Video over ATM projects using multicast.
Created documentation of designs and operational procedures, worked with Engineering Documentation department specialists, and conducted inter-departmental training on operation of BellSouth networks
