I plan, organize & coordinate assignments for officers. My efforts

to supervise, develop, & motivate subordinates have succeeded because

I have the ability to define problems, evaluate alternatives, &

interface between various pressure groups. I am instinctively adept

at getting to the root cause of problems; resolve them quickly, even

while under pressure. As a supervisor, I ask myself, 'What the

problem is

' &, 'What are the trade-off`s' in order to apply logic to

the problem. This interrogatory contemplation allows me to step outside

the problems arena to look-back toward suitable solutions. I coordinate

& supervise on-site tasks & duty performance of many officers. I am

responsible for the supervision, development, & motivation of employees,

perhaps one of the most difficult tasks one can perform. Each assignment

required I use a great deal of tact & discretion to secure their

confidence & cooperation in the proper enforcement of laws &

administrative procedures.

I used positive reinforcements to improve subordinates` performance.

I correctly identify reasons for non-performance using 'coaching analysis'.

I initiate action to change subordinates behavior when required by giving

specific feedback concerning performance as soon as possible using

'coaching discussions.' I set & reset realistic standards to pace my

subordinates through their formative years. I continued with follow-ups

through periodic progress reviews. I conduct counseling with respect to

both on & off duty conduct, job performance deficiencies, & I used the

Merit Performance & Awards Program to acknowledge outstanding performance.

Personally, I have a deep desire to aid my subordinates in the utilization

of their full potential. I supervise, develop, & motivate them toward that

goal. I make work assignments based on qualifications, assignment requirements

& degree of difficulty I believe may be involved in the task.

I keep constant & open communication to ensure a healthy & harmonious work

environment is maintained. I use positive reinforcements to improve

performance, I do whatever I could to ensure a corps of professional officers

are maintained, I am a people person; & I lead by example. My ability to work

well with others, knowledge of regulations, policies, & procedures allow me to

succeed in all phases of my duties as a Supervisor. I perform a wide variety
