DETAILS OF 2 RECENT PROJECTS:
SOFTWARE: Designed small database in VBA for
Excel. Allows data entry by inexperienced users, through custom forms. Wrote
associated HELP file and explanation of how the program works. Am currently
responsible for maintenance of this program.
HARDWARE: Design and Test of 9600 bps low-power
(1 mA at 3 volt) 8PSK modem for use in industrial process control. The modem is
eventually to be integrated into a single IC. It uses many available modern techniques
such as matched filtering, raised cosine filtering, equalization, Costas Loop. This
involved simulation using PSPICE and MATLAB, understanding and use of DSP with integer
math, C code for generating look-up tables, overseeing FPGA and VHDL work, and determining
overall chip architecture.
