Senior Project Manager, ArchiText (a division of TransPerfect Translations), Andover MA, February 2010 to present.

I have worked in all aspect of project management for ArchiText specializing, but not limited to, educational and documentation materials destined for publication. Responsibilities include

preparation of internal budget for quote proposals, scheduling and organization of large complex projects with multiple components, budget management, outsourcing, ensuring quality and

timeliness of deliverables, and interaction with account managers, sales representatives and clients when appropriate. Projects have included children`s books, bilingual dictionaries, online

dictionaries, online materials for a math encyclopedia, religious education materials, math and science elementary school materials, translation of official high school proficiency exams; and many

technical documentation manuals. I also write descriptions of client specific requirements and processes to ensure consistency over time and facilitate the Publications Group efficiencies and

interpreter, teacher and interpreter-training consultant. Translations include five kindergarten and primary school books to teach youngsters fire safety for the National Fire Protection Association; a

variety of pedagogical materials and fiction pieces for the Houghton Mifflin publishing company; a variety of forms and legal documents for the Massachusetts Trial Court system; patient education

materials for The North Shore Medical Center, educational materials for the National Coalition of Advocates for Students; etc. Most recently translations I translated International Humanitarian Law

and human rights issues papers and press releases for Colombia`s Ombudsman Office (Defensoria del Pueblo), and academic papers in all subjects at the Universidad Javeriana Languages

I selected, interviewed, tested, approved, and supervised new court interpreters. Using Access, I designed and managed an interpreter database to keep track of certification status in the State of

Massachusetts. In addition, I designed a new database and spreadsheet for interpreter services billing purposes and designed a new day-to-day operations database to schedule interpreter

services in all Massachusetts courts, which is still in use at the Office of Court Interpreter Services.

As Training Director for the Office of Court Interpreter Services, I wrote and was awarded seven grants from the Boston Bar Foundation, the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, and the consortium of

organizations headed by the Hyams Foundation. Successfully budgeted and managed all funds and met all administrative requirements including the writing of mid-year and annual reports for all

funding sources and the Office of the Chief Administrative Justice. Based on needs assessment research, designed and implemented five separate state-wide Court Interpreter training programs

in ten languages to provide Massachusetts with state certified interpreters. This included fund raising; administration of training budgets; research and compilation of teaching materials; hiring,

training and supervision of instructors and consultants for training in several languages.

Language Needs Consultant, Certified Court Interpreter, and translator, Massachusetts Trial Court, November 1987 - 2000

Researched materials for the Massachusetts Court system's Office of Court Interpreter Services, and developed complex legal-based curricula for interpreter training programs in ten languages. In

addition, coordinated all aspects of interpreter selection, hiring and training and taught portions of the training courses. I wrote the Spanish and English diagnostic exams to screen applicants to the

various Court Interpreter Training Programs in addition to the Spanish and English Certification Exams, and guidelines for exams in nine other languages. I also edited legal glossaries in Spanish,

Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer, French, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Haitian Creole. Collaborated in the writing, compilation, and editing of the "Handbook for Court Interpreters"

published by the Office of the Chief Administrative Justice. Edited the "Manual for Court Interpreter Training Policies and Procedures" and researched, developed and wrote all materials concerning

evaluation procedures and exam descriptions.
