Assistance to Undergraduate Science Education. Funded for $680,000 by National

Science Foundation to enhance and improve undergraduate science education at Old

Dominion University. 1976-1979.

Co-investigator on a $7,000 grant to develop a comprehensive diagnostic prescriptive

math test with the chairman and assistant chairman of the math department. The test was

given to all incoming freshmen at ODU. Results were used for individual prescriptions via

computer and for course revision and structuring: 1977.

College s 5 year STEM Pioneer Project National Science Foundation Grant funded for

$730,000. Completed evaluation reports, focus group reports, and reports on cohort

analysis each year of the grant in addition to providing a final evaluation report.

Evaluator for Hampton University's Center for Minority and Special Education Project

(funded for $5,000,000), 1998. The project focused on increasing funded research in

special education submitted by minority universities.

Evaluator for Math Camp, Hampton University funded by NSF for $180,000 to enhance

the math skills of rising 7th grade students. 1994-1996.

Evaluator for Project ASPIRE, a joint reading and math skills project for students failing

the literacy passport test between Old Dominion University and Norfolk public schools.

Evaluator during the final year of a 2 year Special Students Concern Project, a joint

project between ODU and Norfolk City Schools. The grant was funded through the

Emergency School Aid Act, 1981 for $240,000 to address the needs of students who are

disciplinary problems and at risk for dropping out. 1982.

Evaluator of Project GATE. Guiding Ability Toward Excellence for Chesapeake Pu blic

Schools. Funded for $200,000 over a three year period by Virginia Department of

Education to develop a gifted and talented education program and a procedure for
