Employment History
April 2010 - October 2012: Account Manager
Company: Scott Logistics
Rome, GA
Through dedication and establishing a great working relationship with my customers, I expanded several accounts from very small, very low profit accounts to large, high revenue accounts. I negotiated freight contracts with my customers and carriers, managed a team of logistics coordinators to carefully monitor and track our customer's freight, worked daily with my customers to ensure their satisfaction, submitted large and small bid packages to current and prospective customers, and changed the current company business model at my level to increase productivity and maximize profit margins.
September 2001 - April 2010: Head Bartender
Company: Stake-N-Ale
Atlanta, GA
While I got my degree part-time at Georgia State University, I worked full-time as head bartender in a high volume restaurant catering to business clientele. I was responsible for setting staffing levels, liquor orders, dealing with salespeople, promotions and marketing. I developed an ease with customers and a strong ability to multi-task. This position gave me very good customer skills and I can also make a great drink.
July 1997 - August 2001: Delivery Operations Manager
Company: Kozmo.com
Atlanta, GA
Kozmo.com was a national internet delivery service. I joined the company when it expanded to Atlanta, started off as a delivery supervisor and was promoted to Delivery Operations Manager for the Atlanta facility. I was responsible for hiring and counseling just under 300 employees. I helped design the warehouse, instituted policies and procedures, developed performance measures, determined staffing levels and managed day-to-day operations. Unfortunately, Kozmo.com did not survive the dot-com recession and went out of business.
January 1995 - July 1997: Warehouse Manager
Company: Component Sales of America
Atlanta, GA
CSA was a HVAC component warehouse and distribution company. I started off driving a forklift and was promoted to warehouse manager. My responsibilities included interviewing, hiring and training new team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance and resolving problems. I also instituted policies and procedures and managed daily operations. During my tenure the company moved into a larger warehouse which I designed. I worked closely with contractors and purchased new equipment.
October 1990 - October 1994: Motor Sergeant
Company: US Army
Fort Hood, TX
Managed maintenance operations for a forward combat unit. My responsibilities included scheduling maintenance of vehicles; planning, assigning and directing work; training and counseling subordinates; procuring parts and equipment; organizing convoys. I finished my 4 year enlistment and was honorably discharged.
