I designed a golf shoe to help remove the stress associated when swinging the club on the

lower body. It was patented in the US and Canada along with seven European Countries. It

was presented to the engineering staff of Nike for review and has been cited numerous

times in recent athletic footwear patent applications.

The work of our team resulted in developing a new class of organic biocides. In our lab I

synthesized 26 New Iodonium Ylide compunds in the Industrial Anti-Microbial Research Lab

at Dow. My work led to extending and developing a larger set of bio-active Iodonium Ylide

compounds. This class of organic compunds exhibit extremely good biocidal activity for

gram negative bacteria and can be used in water treatment applications as well as metal

working fluids. I'm especially proud of this work since I was the only non PHD who was

awarded a patent on the application.
