As a Senior Mechanical Engineer my responsibilities were to provide

Technical Support, Advise and provide any means of assistance to make

sure the assigned project of my subordinates are on time.

To provide assistance/Solutions to Customers, Mass production line,

Vendors and other groups requiring Mechanical engineering expertise's

during Prototype to Mass Production stage.

. Initiates Mechanical Design for New customized products with the aid

of 3D software tools e.g. Pro-e 2.0 Wildfire, AutoCAD 2007 and other

related programs. Determines materials per component requirements.

Including packaging design for Shipping.

. Responsible for providing Simulation/Testing data (Airflow, Thermals,

Acoustics, & Vibrations) for Component, Subassembly and Unit stages.

. Initiates tolerance analysis (Stack up analysis), Form fit and

functions (component and Assembly).

. Generates Billing of Materials, BOM, ECN, ECO (Mechanical and other

related parts).

. Technical Costing Evaluation on Mechanical parts e.g. Sheet

metal/Plastic casing, Metal parts, and Cabling requirements.

. Generates drawing specifications (2D, ISO format) for all parts and

assembly for fabrication purposes (Documentation)

. Mechanical testing is initiated Actual Parts Evaluation, First Article

inspection.

The Mechanical Engineer also coordinates with different internal group to

complete project requirements as per Customer requirements /Company

standards;

. Project Management to coordinate target/schedules and other Customer

requirements

. Quality assurance to determine unit reliability and function.

. Safety group to make sure the Mechanical/Electrical parts comply with

different quality standards (UL, CSA, TUV & others, as per power

generating standards)

process requirements. Tooling and assembly requirement are also

reviewed and provided.

. Electrical Engineering to synchronize PCB functionality and

requirements, Electrical layout, Component placement and Process flow.
