2011 During these years I continued to work per diem, full time or
part in the Emergency Center. In total I was employed for 20
consecutive years at University Hospital.

EMERGENCY CENTER 1992-1998 and 2006-2009 Full time Staff Nurse and
Team Leader in 46 bed Level I adult and pediatric emergency Center
. Level I Trauma Center serving 26 counties. Safety net hospital for the
uninsured. University Hospital receives severely injured and ill patients
from all over South Texas as part of the Med Com system. All specialties
are in-house 24/7 and every specialty service is represented in patient
care in the Emergency Center (i.e. Chest Trauma, Transplant, Burn Service,
Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Plastics/OMS). University Hospital is also the
designated hospital for detoxification from alcohol and substances as well
as the cities crisis center for patient's with psychiatric illness.
University Hospital see approximately 176 patients daily to include
Trauma, Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Crisis Stabilization for
addictions.

Multi Trauma and Burn Patients;

INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY-TRAUMA SERVICE 2009-2011- Rotating Charge
Nurse for entire Radiology Department at Night to include, Angio- gram,
Neuro Angio-gram, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT and Sono gram. The
Interventional Radiology department is a essential part of the Level I
trauma mission of University Hospital and treats patients who have been
transferred in from 26 counties or from the scene in need of immediate
services such as embolization of massive hemorrhage or coiling of cerebral
aneurysm. Patients received while Radiology/angio nurse are most of often
new trauma, neuro-surgical or seriously ill Medicine patients. (this
position worked closely with ER and included working in ER until call went
out for the Radiology Nurse to respond. Shift involved working as ER
Triage Nurse, Trauma and Medicine Resuscitation Nurse and Angio-gram
Nurse)
Member of "CODE ANGIO/TRAUMA rapid response team (2009-2011)
o Responded to all Traumas in ER and provided care of the patient(s) in ER
when TRAUMA room required extra nurses. Responded within 15 minutes to any
trauma call of patient needing to have Emergent Angio gram and would
continue resuscitation of patient in ER, from ER and during angio-gram;
o Responded to and cared for patients with acute stroke that may benefit
from direct arterial endovascular thrombolytics;
o Responded to and cared for patients in need of Neuro-Surgical
Endovascular Intervention to include acute rupture of aneurysm or AVM;
o Proficient in Procedural Sedation and caring for patient under general
anesthesia and
