J.M. Smucker Company (2006 – 2010):
Responsible for the management and service of the J.M. Smucker account, which includes the Smucker’s, Jif, Crisco, Pillsbury, and Martha White brands ($44MM combined billings).
Primary contact for senior clients across all divisions of the company.
Playtex (2007 – 2008):
Managed Playtex Infant Care and Banana Boat sun care brands simultaneously with the Smucker’s brands while EVP was out on maternity leave
Panasonic Corp. of America (1990 – 2006):
Overall responsibility for the Panasonic account, representing a large portfolio of products including Plasma TV, Digital cameras, DVD, Portable audio, Cell Phones, Home Appliances, and Batteries ($40 - $50MM annual billings).
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
• Introduced new tools and procedures to The Spice & Tea Exchange allowing their franchises to easily customize and produce their own brand – compliant marketing materials
• Assisted with new business pitch that resulted in the win of the IBC account, bringing an additional $15MM of billings into the agency
• Actively seeked out alliance with major smoke alarm company to partner with Panasonic that resulted in increased awareness, sales and distribution of Panasonic batteries.
• Directed and executed new branding campaign for Smucker’s flagship products to help defend #1 position and stave off competition from Private label.
• Spearheaded launch of Crisco Olive Oil to help contemporize the brand and overcome negative brand associations. Brand awareness increased 9 points during intro period.
• Crisis Management. Helped develop TV and Print campaign overnight for Jif in response to a peanut butter recall. Jif was not involved in the recall but it was essential to preserve the brand’s reputation and inform consumers that Jif was safe to eat.
• Played key agency role in developing new Panasonic brand line “Ideas for Life”, introduced in 2002 and adopted for global use in 2003.
• Maintained agency’s most profitable account (1990 – 2006) and helped increase billings from $22MM to $50MM.
• Orchestrated technology seminar during 2005 Advertising Week in NY that provided Panasonic Broadcast division with the means to get their new HD equipment exposure in the advertising and production community – providing agency an opportunity to work with the broadcast division and expand responsibilities beyond the consumer sector.
• As chairman of the Mirth committee was responsible for running the Agency bar, serving 300+ people per occasion, coordinating special events and creating theme parties all in service of boosting company morale.
