Writer/Editor/Consultant/Project manager

. Edited the Commission to Promote Sustainable Child Welfare's

Accountability Report (Sept 2012)

. Edited the memoirs of Robert Lunney, a retired police chief. His book,

Parting Shots: My Passion for Policing, was launched in April. The

Acknowledgement section reads: To Wendy Rosen of Toronto, the editor of

this memoir, I owe heartfelt thanks for proposing lucid and helpful

suggestions for unscrambling my oftentimes strangled sentence structure,

and for her patience and meticulous attention to detail. Her coaching

vastly improved the finished product.

. Produced a book for Baycrest Centre on intergenerational photography.

. Provided communications strategies to a professional photographer,

helping her organize and arrange photography exhibits, then produced

promotional material to support the exhibits.

. Past clients include West Park, Baycrest, Sunnybrook and St. John's.

Lakeridge Health Corp.

Oshawa, Ontario

Writer (Part-time)

August 2000 - April 2009

. Developed and guided Lakeridge's first Community Report, a quarterly

newsletter highlighting the hospital's people and programs. This evolved

into Community Connection, a 10 times a year page in four local

newspapers that I guide from concept to publication working with outside

suppliers.

. Developed, wrote, edited and published a bi-weekly employee newsletter

featuring stories about people, innovations and activities which allowed

staff stretched across multiple sites to feel connected.

. Worked with various departments to help promote their initiatives.

. Edited and coordinated publication of the Durham Regional Cancer Centre

Physician Guide.

. Created an outstanding photo op when four MPPs came to present cheque for

dialysis treatment. Before presentation, found patient receiving

treatment who was on wait-list for kidney transplant. Afterwards, asked

the MPPs to pose with patient holding the large cheque. All

reporters/photographers followed, took picture and talked to patient

about the need for more donors. Presented Lakeridge in a great light.

. 2008 Service Excellence Award (presented to Communications team)

The Canadian Jewish News

Toronto, Ontario

Features Editor (Began as Freelancer)

. Transformed a full-colour glossy magazine that was published twice a year

into a product that had both style and substance. It ranked quite high in

a readership survey conducted after a couple of issues.

. Produced many supplements over the years but the greatest achievement was

the first Party supplement. We hoped for eight pages and after two weeks

it was clear this product was just what advertisers wanted. The first

issue was 32 pages. As Advertising kept me in the loop, I had enough copy

and photos.

. Planned/guided two specialty weekly sections and all special

supplements/pages.
