As a senior electric designer in the Compression & Electrical Group I’ve worked on
small to complex automation, grounding and fire & gas protection projects with budgets
ranging from several hundred thousand to 10 million dollars. I’m currently the senior
electric designer on a 5 million dollar Station Automation project involving the installation
of PLC’s on 2-2000 HP vertical compression units. I use AutoCad 2012 & Raster 2012

to create the drawing bid package and construction issue drawings and I also oversee
the work of several electric drafting team members. Drawing packages can number as
many as 250 drawings. I’ve been on long term contract to Northern Natural Gas for
nearly 6 years.

As a substation designer I was involved in 11 new and major additions to 38 electrical
substations for Iowa Power and the merged companies of Midwest Power and
MidAmerican Energy Company using Microstation V3 – V5 for the drafting work. I also
served as field superintendent on many of these projects. I was primarily responsible
for the restoration effort in placing the West Des Moines Substation back in-service after
the 1993 floods. I helped oversee the field construction of the foundations for the SE
Polk 345/161 kV Substation and its associated transmission lines.
EARLIER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I’ve worked at a number of architectural offices as an architectural draftsman both
manually or with AutoCad. Some of the more prestigious jobs I’ve worked on include
Scottish Rite Park retirement home in Des Noines, IA and the Herbert Hoover
