Contractual Quality Engineer - Belcan Corp. September 2009 - December 2009

Responsible for creating all PPAP paperwork required for part submission.

This includes ballooning prints, PFMEA, Flow Charts, Gauging requirements,

and Control Plans. The manufacturing environment is CNC machining of very

large parts for commercial use.

Reason for leaving: Project was complete - end of contract obligation

Contractual Quality Manager - Takumi stamping, May 2008 to August 2008

Responsible for 5 Quality Specialists (Engineers) and 55 hourly quality

associates. Interface with customers and assist with root cause analysis,

and new model launch assistance. Involved with a high volume automotive

manufacturing operation that produces 12-13 million parts a month.

Quality Engineer/ Quality Lab Supervisor - Faxon Machining, June 2005 to

March 2008

Responsible for a large portion of the machining operations as a "hands-on"

QE. Involved in PPAP, Capability Studies, SPC analysis, Control & PFMEA

documentation, and customer interface.

Contractual Quality Manager, PTC Alliance, March 2005 to June 2005

Responsible for all quality functions within the division. This includes

customer contact, vendor discrepancies, Engineering Interface, and internal

Manufacturing issues. Assisted with TS certification.

Contractual Quality Engineer, Delphi Automotive, Sept 2004 to December 2004

Responsible for the entire plant quality function. PPAP, ISO/Qs 9000, ISO

14001 and vendor interface. Also responsible for floor activities and all

outgoing quality of product. Large portion of this position spent

interfacing with vendors and Engineering over design and process concerns

helping improve internal product processes

Manager of Quality, Mark Concepts - June 2002 to January 2003

Oversee all Quality functions in a multi-plant operation. Quality team

consists of three Quality Engineers and six floor inspectors. Responsible

for PPAP submissions, Customer relations, ISO-9002 involvement and a

proactive involvement with our vendors. Also involved with the APQP and Six

Sigma projects. manufacturing environment is Sheet Metal Stamping,

Braking, Assembly, and Powder Coating for the trucking industry as a tier 1

suppler.

Accomplishments:

Reduced work-in-process by streamlining the Final Inspection criteria and

refining processes.

Decreased final inspection rejections in an assembly operation from 45% to

10%. Introduced efforts to totally

restructure organization's quality plan.

Oversee all aspects of the Manufacturing process. Establish procedures and

checklists to enable operators to set-up, operate, and inspect his/her own

work. Work with the QA Engineering Tech to establish guidelines on all

Incoming Inspection criteria. Work with the vendor base to establish solid

lines of communication and positive feedback.

Teamed with other staff in acquiring new facilities equipment and

between manufacturing operations and the assembly plant. Assist in new

between OEM vendors and plant management. The communication between OEM

vendors and plant management required working with the vendor to resolve

product quality issues (Root Cause Analysis) and to help establish a time

Process & Machine Capability Studies, Control Plan reviews and ISO/QS-9000.

Accomplishments:

Conducted training in quality, maintenance operations, and product

orientation for groups ranging from assembly line workers to senior

management. Reduced training cost by 40% by merging classes.

Established teleconference between organization's design center and

customer regarding major changes to a product. Conducted product tests at

customer site, reported findings to design engineering staff, resulting in

parts entering production ahead of schedule.

Conducted seminar to orient automotive workers on customer expectations.

Training improved quality by focusing attention on specific problems.

Saved a customer $1K a minute by quickly investigating a critical quality
