Program Manager

Managed new vehicle Programs in the heavy truck and school bus market for

largest customer, Navistar.

Developed Gantt charts to prioritize and manage all critical dates for raw

materials, tools & equipment, all prototype and pre-launch events leading

to start of production and Engineering Changes along the way. Familiarity

with many production processes and start-up of new equipment, along with

previous metal stamping and welding experience was valuable in getting most

problems resolved very early in the launch timeline. Worked with the

Quality Engineer at all tool trials and runoffs to reduce or eliminate

process variation.

Coordinate all engineering changes, -cost and timing from phase in to phase

out. Direct supervision of Engineering Assistant, Responsible for breaking

down complex wiring harness drawings for quoting all new business, and

engineering changes at both our Mexican and U.S. facilities. Develop bills

of material, labor routings, and other process parameters needed to begin

production in a lean, just in time production system.

Tool Room Manager

Hands on position that included the process engineering duties of

evaluating and correcting part capability issues, and assisting with cost

reductions and method improvements. Assist with all equipment start-ups.

Direct supervision of our 17 man Tool & Die Team, Duties included:

Scheduling all repair, and preventive die maintenance activities. Issue

daily work assignments based on production priorities. Developed annual

goals & objectives for the toolroom & reported progress toward their

attainment. Developed capital equipment requests to support aggressive

performance improvements.

Process / Tooling Engineer

My team, was responsible for (5) new progressive stamping dies (2)

hydraulic assembly presses, (1) bowl fed projection nut welder, & a

$900,000 Front Upper Control Arm assembly machine. Supported continuous

improvement efforts on the shop floor. Managed new part programs from award

of business thru equipment run-off and Production Part Approval.

Coordinated the efforts of Tool & Die shops, material suppliers, and

internal launch teams at both the Bluffton, and Upper Sandusky Ohio

facilities. Maintained project timelines; Produced Flow Charts, Control

Plans, and Process Capability reports.

Kentucky 1988 to 1997

Senior Industrial Engineer Promoted to: Tool Engineering

Supervisor in 1993

Responsible for all tools & fixturing to support a 500 employee assembly &

machining Facility. Coordinated all Engineering Changes. Designed and

administered a very successful continuous improvement suggestion program.

Supervised (2) Tool Designers, (1) Manufacturing Engineer, a (4) man Tool

Room, and (2) CNC Tool Grinders. Trained in M.O.S.T. work measurement

system.
