My primary responsibility was to set and enforce credit policy and
procedures for the loan department. I performed all credit analysis for
commercial borrowers whose aggregate indebtedness ranged from $100,000 -
$3,000,000+. I made recommendations on loan structure & pricing, aided
lenders in the management of maturing loans and often met with the customer
and lender to ask additional questions regarding financial statements,
management ability, etc. I also monitored past dues, non-accruals and
charge offs for negative trends and made recommendations to senior
management to correct such negative trends. I prepared a quarterly
narrative that outlined the current state of our national and local
economies and projected the potential impact on our loan portfolio. I was
responsible for risk grading the loan portfolio, which was in excess of
$165 Million. I also managed the Allowance for Loan & Lease Losses to
ensure that adequate allocations had been made, and made recommendations to
senior management regarding the level of our monthly provision. I
monitored trends in the loan portfolio and potential concentrations of
credit. I managed four (4) other members of the Credit Department and was
the leader of our CPE (Continuous Process Enhancement) Team. I was awarded
Employee of the Year my first full year at Ohio Valley.
