Snr MINE PLANNING ENGINEER/PRODUCTION MANAGER 1999-

2009

. I was responsible for designing, developing, and applying engineering,

mathematical models, simulation analysis and optimization models to

drive solutions to complex ore deposits, its extraction and metal

recovery. Coordinating with the Engineering Manager, Chief Geologist,

Chief Surveyor, Mining Superintendent, Plant Superintendent and

Recovery Plant Superintendent to come out with the daily, weekly and

monthly production target. From these figures projected short and mid-

term mine planning program is drawn

. Computerized the whole concession of the company, using Random and

Universal Kriging methods in geostatistics to estimate the ore

reserves for each mining block. Modeled and designed all the mining

blocks to come out with a mine layout including the mineral values and

cutoff grade.

. Each block is budgeted for the mining operations, production needs,

maintenance activities including security, safety and high level of

productivity, in accordance with the mine and safety regulations of

Ghana Mines Department.

. Short and long term planning programs for the alluvial mining with

respect to production targets including safe bench height and bench

width.

. Planned and designed all mining and haulage roads, mining programs

and reclamations of mined out blocks with higher grade, optimizing of

shovels/dragline, truck fleets, pit designs, and simulating cost

modeling with minimum downtime as well as planning for the labour at

the mining face, washing and recovery plants.

. The mined out cuts are reclaimed for planting timber, oil palm and

vegetation.

. Sub-contracted by Ghana Manganese Company and Ghana Bauxite Company to

plan and design their large and massive deposits. They are large open

cast producing about 700,000 tons/yr of 45% MnO (Manganese Oxide) and

MnCo (Manganese Carbonate), the bauxite mine producing about 450,000

tons/yr of 51% AlO (Aluminum Silicate)

MINE PLANNING ENGINEER

1990-1995

. Initiated planning department, collected all old and current data from

survey, geology, assay, and engineering department and a planning

program was organized for the whole mining concession of Ghana

Consolidated Diamonds Ltd.

. Performed manual calculations on ore reserves estimation and stripping

ratio. Planned the mining sequence of the diamondiferous gravel,

haulage roads and haulage of gravels from the mining face to the

washing plants for the recovery of diamonds.

. Sub-contracted by Canada Consolidated Minerals to explore alluvial

gold deposits at the south-western part of Ghana. Using 200ft. by

200ft. grid and foot deep samples were taken for assaying and detailed

sampling done the areas that showed anomalies.

. Redesigned the mine layout to include some mined-out stopes with high

grade ore. Promoting safety, productivity, ground control and

ventilation according to Ghana Mining Regulations.

. Effectively planned the estimation of ore from underground with less

waste materials and dilution.

. Proportioned each level and stopes to achieve the monthly target of

tonnage and average head grade to the mill for gold recovery.

. Redesigned the tailing dam to accommodate more waste.
