Dear Mr/ Ms:
I am writing to request that you review my resume for a Quality Engineer
position.
For 19 years I have worked in the Quality Departments of several automotive
suppliers. I have held positions as a Quality Engineer, interim Quality
Manager and most recently Supplier Quality Engineer. My strengths lie in
the areas of supplier and customer relations (both foreign and domestic),
setting-up quality systems and work standardization. I have also lead
companies through QS 9000 and recertification of QS 9000, as well as the
next level of TS16949 and ISO 14001.
While at Johnson Controls, Inc. I received Greenbelt certification. My
Greenbelt project implemented better work flow and balance to the
production line by using time studies and pokie yoke devices. To improve
efficiency and maintain accurate product completion, the pokie yokes were
introduced to eliminate a problem of missing components during the product
build. The end result was the elimination of a PRR cost of $4,500 from
Customer.
As I am sure you are aware, the automotive industry has been volatile in
the recent years. In the last 5 years I have been a part of two plant
closings and a plant-wide workforce reduction. I am looking forward to
hearing from you.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Randy Grider
