PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
BADGER METER INCORPORATED, Tulsa, OK Jan 2005 to Present
Research Control Valve Division
Senior Design Engineer
Responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of new
products, customer specific products and product enhancements. As the sole
mechanical engineer in the organization, I am called upon to provide solid
modeling and FEA skills to perform product design analyses on company valve
products. Regularly used components of my skill set include valve
component analysis, pressure and flow testing, advanced materials
knowledge, test system design and extensive use of numerous ASME and ASTM
codes. Also called to assist in developing best fit valve designs for
specific customer applications utilizing a significant array of high metal
alloys, thermoplastics and elastomers.
Major Accomplishments:
Designed and built precision multi-functional valve flow test loop
Developed Aseptic Sanitary valve product line and design is currently
patent pending and is scheduled for a September 2010 introduction.
Became the "in-house" expert in valve flow analysis and flow
trim/characteristic design
FW MURPHY INDUSTRIES, Tulsa, OK Sep 2001 to May 2004
Instrumentation and Controls
Director of Engineering
Promoted from Senior Project Engineer where I was responsible for the
design, development and implementation of new products and sustaining
activities for existing company products. As Director, was responsible for
the direction and goal setting of product design, sustaining engineering
and new product development (mechanical). I directed a staff of 15
engineers and related engineering personnel in all aspects of design and
support while promoting best practices where appropriate throughout
engineering and manufacturing while conforming to ISO 9000 requirements. I
was successful at maintaining effective and highly productive relationships
with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and Sales/Marketing.
Major Accomplishments:
Identified and implemented numerous product design and procurement changes
resulting in $500K annual savings.
Re-engineered the engineering document control and design control segments
of ISO Quality System to achieve a higher level of compliance while moving
documentation structure from one of predominately paper to a fully
electronic process.
On numerous occasions, identified and implemented product design and/or
process revisions resulting in significant improvements in manufacturing
process cycles and significant cost reductions.
PARKER HANNIFIN CORPORATION, Des Plaines, IL Nov 2000 to Aug 2001
Cylinder Division

products and product enhancements. Served as Lead Engineer on several
projects and managed product design projects, documentation, project costs
and timelines. The product development process required the maintenance of
relationships with Marketing, Product Management and Manufacturing groups
situated in 12 separate domestic locations, to insure expedient and timely
product introductions.
Major Accomplishments:
In first 6 months, resolved 7-year old design problem thus allowing product
development cycle to continue, introducing a new product offering and a new
manufacturing process. New process based on a new steel shape cold rolling
technology plus a proprietary vibratory finishing process.
