To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Joseph Giordano and I am a career minded individual that would
like an opportunity to meet with you and discuss my qualifications. I am a
self motivated team player, and I believe that I could be an asset to your
organization.
My experience began in 1986 when I enlisted in the United States Navy where
I served aboard the USS Caron for nearly five years. I was deployed to
Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf. It was
there under such high pressure situations that my skills as both a
subordinate and a leader were sharpened. I received an honorable discharge
and attained the rank of E-5.
Upon discharge I began work at International Marine Terminals, where I was
employed as a Class "C" Industrial Electrician. From there I moved on to
the Celotex Corporation where I had the duties of First Class Shift
Electrician. Next was United States Gypsum where I was a Top Electrician as
well as a Relief Foreman. I left USG to become the Electrical
Superintendent at Teco Bulk Terminal. While working at USG, I obtained my
Statewide Master Electricians License and opened a successful Electrical
Contracting Business which I still own and operate. Unfortunately it
interfered too much with my duties at Teco that I had to resign my position
to pursue my business full time. However, in August of 2005 I was hired as
the Maintenance Manager for Associated Terminals. Hurricane Katrina's
devastation forced me to again resign my position and dedicate myself to
rebuilding the community, through my business. Currently, since may of
2009, I have been again working at the Bulk Terminal, this time as a Class
A Electrician. Finally, from 1996 to 2002, I attended the University of
New Orleans where I currently hold approximately 75 credit hours in the
Electrical Engineering curriculum
It is at this point in my career that I am ready to absolve my business and
seek steady, long term employment with a stable company for which my skills
and experience can best be utilized. Thank you for your time and
