Patent Litigation
. Member of legal team in several large patent infringement suits
concerning medical imaging equipment, pharmaceutical compounds and
delivery systems, and data compression and storage. Drafted claim
charts, patent opinions and infringement analyses to assess strength of
infringement and validity arguments; provided written and oral summaries
thereof. Researched possible interpretations of licensing agreement
clauses; assessed strength of proposed interpretations for litigation
purposes.
. Member of trial team for a two week long trial: drafted trial motions,
provided research and prepared witnesses. Drafted motions, responses and
reply briefs. Responsible for all aspects of the discovery process:
drafted pleadings and interrogatories, managed document review, prepared
for and second-chaired depositions and interviewed internationally
located client employees, inventors, and expert witnesses. Supervised

communications. Managed the discovery phase of numerous patent litigation

Patent Prosecution
. Drafted multiple patent applications concerning spinal implant
technology. Responded to Office Actions to overcome rejections of
applications. Drafted and submitted amended claims to foreign counsel
for prosecution of foreign applications corresponding to U.S.
applications.
Trademark/Copyright
. Performed trademark searches via the search engine provided through the
United States Patent & Trademark Office website. Provided advice
regarding trademark registration and potential infringement issues and
summaries of trademark law to clients.
. Maintaining current understanding of issues in copyright and trademark
law through ongoing CLE courses, including the Understanding Copyrights &
Trademarks and Technology and Entertainment Convergence seminars offered
