Hello,

My name is ******* M ***** and I am interested in the hospitality/tourism

sales and marketing positions in the greater NYC metropolitan area. I have

wanted to move to the New York City area for some time now, and would

welcome the opportunity to discuss positions further with you. I am

currently the Director of Sales and Marketing for a few hotels in the San

Diego region, under the management and ownership of Pacifica Host Hotels.

Prior to taking this position, I worked for a resort timeshare management

company, ResortCom International, in San Diego as well, and this position

provided a wide array of duties, including marketing, design support

services, public relations administration, and technical writing.

I graduated with my Master's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Business

Management from ESADE in Barcelona and am at a high level of proficiency in

Spanish, and believe my multi-national experience and cross-cultural

management skills, as well as the understanding of the industry in both an

educational and professional environment, have really helped me excel in

the hospitality industry, and would make for a strong candidate in a

challenging and diverse city such as New York.

I have excellent negotiation skills, am very multi-faceted with my current

Director of Sales position, including contract management, outside selling,

prospecting, travel to various consortias and travel agencies, and I have

participated in many mixers and events with my local San Diego CVB. I have

worked tradeshows such as SGMP, SD Travel Expo, Mexport and have acted as

an ambassador for my employers.

I truly find the tourism and hospitality industry my passion, and have

always worked in it, even in food and beverage service as well as being a

flight attendant during college. Since graduating with my Masters, I have

worked in both the sales and marketing as well as operations departments of

hotels and timeshares. I feel that I am very dynamic and have been exposed

to much cross training, including revenue management, social media, and e-

commerce management as well.

I am also very diverse and flexible in my project management abilities, and

am proficient in applications such as Microsoft Office, ACT!, Adobe In-

Design, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, and Photoshop. Before studying

abroad in Spain and The Netherlands for graduate school, I received my BA

in English Literature from San Diego State University, with a

concentration in Creative Writing, and I also taught English as a foreign

language in between my undergraduate and graduate school studies.

Again, I have wanted to relocate to the New York City area for some time

now, and am very interested in positions in hotel sales in this exciting

city and booming tourism market. I am not looking to leave my current

employer in San Diego unless I can secure a great position with an

exceptional company in New York. I realize that relocation and interviews

for someone like myself, coming from the west coast is not desirable,

however should the position interview process move forward, I would be

honored to come to New York and meet with you on my own time and expenses.

Again,

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss positions further. P

lease contact me via my cell phone, 619 *** ****. Thank you for your time

and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards,

******* M *****
