Sales of catalog, magazine and book printing nationwide. The company is based in
Burlington, WI, has 3 facilities in the Milwaukee area, is privately held, has sales of $40
MM, and 450 employees.
EP Graphics, Div. of DRG. Berne, IN August, 1999 – January, 2006
Sales Management, generated immediate new business in the catalog market, helped to
steer the company into a new and profitable niche. Sales doubled and EP earned a profit
in my tenure there. EP has one plant, is privately held, has sales of $19 MM, and
employs 160 people.
The D.B. Hess Company, Clifton, NJ March. 1997 – July, 1999
Catalog printing sales in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Jersey; achieved
$1.5 MM in new sales the first year and became a recognized leader and mentor in new
lead generation and the targeting of work ideally suited to plant capabilities. Hess Print
Solutions is based in Brimfield, OH.
Delaware Valley Offset, Inc., Deposit, NY December, 1990 – February, 1997
Vice President, Sales. A partner and owner of a new start-up sheetfed and heatset web
printing business producing catalogs, publications, books and directories; including
private and public funding, business plan, staffing, procurement, etc. Managed sales,
estimating, and customer service while handling personal sales and establishing three
satellite sales offices. Our volume grew to $5,500,000.
Dickinson Press, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI September, 1984 – December,
1990
I was involved in the sales of book printing in Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. I opened up
the west coast market and took a territory producing $375,000 in sales to $3,400,000 in
three years.
I attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan for four years with a view toward
an education career. I majored in History and Education with a minor in Political
Science/Public Administration. I have received training in various aspects of sales and
management over the years including the Wilson Counselor Salesperson, telemarketing,
etc. I have participated in the implementation of quality control programs like ISO, Five
S, and Kaizen. I am told I have been a teacher, in all but name, for my entire career.
