. I'm in Stamping plants daily as well as Tool and Die shops making sure
our customers are happy and I have no problem getting my head into a
press or getting dirty. Whatever it takes!
. I travel across the US and Canada 3 weeks a month to help our
customers solve their tooling issues and recommend solutions based on
their application. Whether its tool steel, coating or heat treat
selection.

Responsible for managing the Stamping operations as well as the Tool rooms
for a Tier I Honda supplier.
. Managed day to day operations for 54 associates including 3
supervisors and 6 group leaders across 2 shifts with presses up to
3500 tons.
. Managed 72 new die builds for new program launches and well as die
runoffs.
. Visited Tool and Die Shops across Michigan, Ohio and Indiana for die
run-offs in order to make sure the dies and parts met print specs.

Accountable for managing new product launches of steel stamped products
related to Automotive Tier I and Tier II industry.
. Headed up all Engineering changes from the customer.
. Involved in everyday plant wide issues whether it was in assembly,
stamping, welding, machining or equipment repair. I helped out any
where I can.
. Designed die improvements for problem dies on a daily basis.
. Managed the Tool and Die operations for 1 year with 15 Tool and die
makers.
. Chaired weekly meetings for what I call the "Top 10 List". This was a
cross functional team meeting I held weekly to address our top 10
problem dies and solve the issues.
. Originally I was hired as a Sr. Process Engineer. After about a year
working there I was also given the responsibility for the Tool and Die
makers as well as controlling the tooling budget.

Responsible for a 9.6M Dollar project to bring metal stamping in-house to
an assembly plant. This included adding onto the current facility as well
as buying presses and die maintenance equipment.
. Spent weeks in Japan buying off on dies and presses.
. Trained existing assembly associates on how to run, set-up and
maintain dies in presses up to a 1000 Ton transfer press for seating
components for the Honda Ridgeline, Accord and Civic.
. Wrote a Die Standards/Press specs book for Tool shops.

Sr. Tooling Engineer
Accountable for all Tool and Die activities including new program launches
as well as Tooling/Labor Budget control.
. Accountable for 36 Tool Makers and 2 Tool Engineers across 3 shifts.
. Quoted all new jobs for the clutch plate stamping dept. for Ford Motor
Co.
. Managed all outside tool builds for excess of 200 new program
launches.
. Implemented a Continuous Improvement Program for our Navistar
(International Truck) door hinge manufacturing unit that turned it
from our highest loss job into our third highest profit job in 18
months utilizing Kaizen principles. I moved presses into a cell with
a six piece work flow. Prior to the changes we mass produced each
component and tried to fit them at the end. Prior to the Kaizen work
cell the company had 300% rework and inspection.
. Started a cross functional team between management and hourly
employees to start a formal Tool and Die apprenticeship program and
acted as Chairman. I worked with IVY Tech to establish courses such
as manual machining, CNC machining, blue print reading with GD&T and
Advanced Die Making skills.
. Reduced perishable tooling monthly expense from $140,XXX to $ 60,XXX
due to proper tool steel selection and the right punch and die
clearance.
