Uniformed Armed Security Shift Supervisor

Serve as a shift supervisor responsible for directing the actions of assigned personnel. Establish

performance and standards and evaluate employees. Monitor CCTV monitors and the security

control system alarm system to ensure that personnel secure sensitive compartmented

information facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program (SAP) within the facility. Support the

Visitor Control Center (VCC) for DARPA and help provide access control support for building

security and the coordination between various entities of Government, VIPs and Contracting

visitors. Receive and process all Pentagon Force Protection alert messages in accordance with

the emergency alert notification system. Receive and respond to reports of violations or

complaints. Conducts frequent routine and non- routine building inspections for life threatening

and safety hazards, water leaks and security breaches and hazards during the construction

phase. Ensure that all staff, contractors, and officers are performing their assigned duties in

compliance with the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency safety policies and

procedures. I was responsible for monitoring a variety of alarm systems including fire, call box,

duress and burglary and maintenance-related items in high priority areas and access control in

and out of these areas. Records information, determines priority of response and relay precise

and accurate information which could make the difference between life and death for those

responding and those involved in the situation for prompt response with fire, police and EMS

vehicles. Ensures that updated information is received and disseminated as it become

available. Provide information to the responding personnel, notifying organization and agencies

as determined appropriate. Handled a high volume of telephone calls for police, fire and

medical assistance. Initiates coverage and mutual aid requests for assistance, as requested.

Ensures that updated information is received and disseminated to the appropriate personnel.

Conducts required testing and maintenance of enhanced 911 systems, fire/ police related alarm

systems and recording system. Evaluate and ensure that all communication and alarm systems

are in proper working order. When found defective, initiates immediate action/notifications to

correct the situation to ensure that communications can remain operational. Ensures recall

rosters on key personnel from the necessary units are accurate. I was responsible for

alarm boxes, duress, burglar alarms, and all facilities telephones and their location. I am

responsible for dispatching the officers to the proper locations for prompt response on alarms

and emergency situations prepare reports for the systems tested and maintained, evaluated

and recorded the information on the EMS and Fire department when they responded to

emergency calls on the premises. I am responsible for the protection of the DARPA property,

staff, and visitors, while enforcing the laws, rules and regulations on and within the Defense

Advanced Research Project Agency property. I'm also responsible for preserving the peace and

preventing crime, while detecting any and all violations of the law or policy that may take

place, pursuing and making arrests if necessary. On a daily basis I serve on stationary posts

including public entrances, parking lots and shipping and receiving entrances, answer alarms,

patrol heavy traffic areas and areas that may be vulnerable to vandalism or areas where crimes

against persons could take place. Inspect building perimeters and other outside locations by

vehicle and on foot, looking for any discrepancies that may need correcting. I have conducted

and analyze many detailed escorts with the Secret Services for essential persons from all over

the world. To ensure safety I perform screening procedures, review credentials and verify the

authority of persons seeking entry into non-public areas. As a first responder, I respond to

medical emergencies, offer assistance by utilizing CPR, first aid and Automatic External

Defibrillator (AED) if necessary until medical help arrive.

Janitor Services

I Provided the Smithsonian National History building janitorial services. I was responsible for

the cleaning of windows, floors, bathrooms and general area of building. I performed trash

removal from facilities and grounds.

DARPA SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE:

While employed at DARPA/FSI for 3 yrs within that time I was promoted to sergeant and

participated in the Security Detail for the Vice President of the United States.

RELEVANT TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS:

Training: Successful completion of the requirements for Preventing Disease Transmission (i.e.,

blood-borne pathogens); successful completion of a course in the use of the ASP baton and the

use of handcuffs; successful completion of all training required by the contract also Anti

Terrorism level 1 awareness training and security control monitoring training.

Certifications: Qualified and certified (licensed) as an Armed Security Officer in accordance

with the laws and regulations of the state of Virginia; Certified in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary

Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), hazardous Materials (HAZMAT)

First Responder Awakened Level, and certified to use and operate X-Ray and Magnetometer

devices.
