Transformed a disorganized, inefficient home into a smooth-running operation by

updating all of their programs and Individual Service Plans that were over a year

overdue; this helped ensure the residents were receiving the programs that they

needed and weren’t being neglected in their growth. I managed a group home of

15 mentally retarded residents, along with staff, making sure that their schedules

were up to date. I dealt with all ordering and billing for merchandise for the

home. I scheduled and attended all annual staffings for each resident as well as

monthly outings and activities.

• Intern/Legal/Medical Advocate

As an intern I served as extra hands helping to do paperwork, filing, and

answering the phones. I also helped with outreach in the volunteer program to

help ensure that the community was aware of the opportunity to volunteer with us.

I also stepped in as a temporary legal/medical advocate for the agency when they

were short. During this time I assisted victims in the hospital receiving any tests;

helping them with the paperwork and ensuring them of our programs. I also

assisted victims at the court house; whether this was attending the court date with

them and walking them through the steps as their advocate or attending the court

date on behalf of them.
