The Homestead Preserve in Hot Springs, VA constructed a large development
for upscale homes. I ensured the quality of construction on force main and
gravity flow sewer line, ductile iron water main, and construction of
roadways on various sites throughout the project. In addition, I also
inspected the backfill process to ensure that proper compaction is
achieved. I also filled out daily progress reports, and kept my drawings up
to date on work finished. Major Duties also included observing and keeping
record of utility testing on the newly installed utilities. Tests included
manhole vacuum, sewer line air pressure, sewer line mandrel, water line air
pressure, and waterline water pressure tests.

Grafton, WV installed a new sanitary sewer system to improve waste water
pollution of the Tygart River from their current outdated system. As the
Resident Inspector, I was responsible for overseeing the construction
process to guarantee proper installation of the new sewer system. I was
also responsible for completing a diary of the daily progress, and daily
pay items. I also reviewed pay applications, and discussed any differences
between my records and the contractors with the proper people before the
progress meeting each month. Additionally, I was responsible for reporting
any changes from the original plans to the home office, and to maintain
accurate drawings of the project progress and changes.
