To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Aaron Vande Kamp. I am a recent graduate from Calvin College in Grand Rapids,

MI. I graduated in December of 2009 with a degree in Business/Marketing.

I wanted to take this time to tell you a little about myself and why I am interested in applying for

the Merchandising Specialist Position with BDS Marketing. While still in my senior year at

Calvin College I took a marketing/ research job with a company called InsureNET out of Grand

Rapids. I mainly worked from home researching and contacting various government programs.

This position showed me what it takes to work independently and how to properly build and

maintain relationships with clients and co-workers. However, the company underwent some

financial difficulties at the beginning of this year and was obligated to let me go. This led to my

internship with a company called Byrne Electrical Specialists, out of Rockford, Michigan.

I worked at Byrne for 5+ months as a marketing/ sales intern. During this time my business sense

grew exponentially: I organized and gave marketing and sales presentations, I worked in

customer relations, building and creating relationships with customers, I advertised Byrne’s

product line through the creation of marketing materials, and I promoted them online through

various social networking sites. Also, I grew in my understanding of e-commerce and how to

manage and utilize information gathered from website traffic through the use of Google

analytics.

I am an effective leader and an excellent communicator. I work well in teams as well as on my

own, and I am willing to learn anything that may be asked of me in a new position. I have

excellent writing and speaking skills, and every new experience increases my confidence. I enjoy

taking on challenges and am constantly striving to better myself.
