Process control to educate Plant Operators.
The effect of the Rapid Lean Implementation was evident in over 20,000 $ savings
and 30% reduction in cycle and Takt time.
Technical Service :Operations Research & Process optimization
Research on of Stochastic processes, Regression Analysis, Decision models, Risk
Management for Optimal Operation.
Improved operating conditions resulted in a Polyol of very high Quality.
Quality Control (Quality Manual Development )
The Quality Manual embarked on delivering a 25% increase in Polyol Productivity
with sustaining the current quality level.
Focused on Kaizen continuous improvement to improve the Quality-Cost Margin by
19% for the calendar year 2007
Scrutiny on the complex business problems, Fundamental Business issues, cost
control, resulted in 10,000 $ reduction in labor and overhead costs and helped in
meeting their Strategic and Financial Goals.
Supply Chain Management
Underwent two- month training on Supply Chain dynamics, models, tools, Demand
Optimization, Supply chain design.
Enhanced the supply chain by introducing ERP techniques that improved the
effectiveness of the scheduling time.
Efforts resulted in 10% reduction in Customer Query time and reduced the
Logistics cost by 120,000 $ on an annual basis.
Lean Operations Associate-University of Southern California (USC Bookstores)
(2008-2010)
Supervision of the Product quality for the entire USC bookstore Merchandise
involving commercially variable utility products
Conducted monthly audit of the Inventory Levels and proposed the Inventory level
plan for the following month.
Conducted seasonal replenishment planning for the Inventory and charted optimal
transportation schemes during off-seasons.
Increased the Supply Chain Efficiency by charting down the non-value adding steps
thereby improving the existing models.
Applied Lean principles to optimize the management, that resulted in 5000$
savings in Operating costs.
Internship Experiences:
Experimental Project on Elastomeric Polyol Grade at Manali Petrochemicals Pvt.
Ltd. (Aug 2006-Nov 2006)
Supervision of the design Parameters and operation of a resin bed in an
experimental project to expedite Polyol processing.
Documented the data on the observed results with regards to the Polyol quality,
Pro's and Con's of the experimental project, processing time, recovery and
suggested recommendations for better operation.
Laboratory Project: Scaling up of enzyme Protease at Central Leather Research
Institute, India. (Jun2006-Aug 2006)
Scaling up of the enzyme Protease from flask level to Laboratory scale using a
Fermenter in various operating conditions.
Collaborated with Dr. Puvanakrishnan, Deputy Director and head, CLRI on this
project and documented the results.
Production Planning & Cost Estimation at Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals
(May 2005- June 2005)
Developed a production plan based on operational constraints to reduce the lead
time by 20% for Cefalexin manufacture.
Conducted a study on the capacity planning and Cost Estimation to support the
Production Plan.
Helped in Interfacing the Management goals with the Operations Department in
order to execute the Plan.
Lean Projects Experience:
Order Fulfillment Process - USC Bookstores ( Spring 2009)
