Human Resource Manager - Reported to President, General Manager, Chief
Financial Officer and Vineyard Manager. Duties include handling and
conducting all aspects of Human Resources for 196 employees such as: plan
and conduct new hire orientations; keep records of benefit plan
participation such as insurance, pension plans, personnel transactions such
as new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and terminations;
administer benefits programs such as medical, dental, life, vision, 401k,
vacation time, sick leave, PTO and LOA; schedule employee appointments to
discuss benefits; process enrollment forms both internally and to
individual carriers; handle terminations and COBRA conversions; verified
coverage, employment and dependent status; respond to inquiries regarding
policies, procedures and programs; counsel employees as needed; prepare
employee separation notices and related documentation; represent employer
at personnel-related hearings and investigations; record employee
information such as personnel data, compensation, benefits, tax data,
attendance, performance reviews, employee evaluations and terminations;
process employment applications and assist in other employment activities
such as interviews; update employee files to document personnel actions and
to provide information for payroll and other uses; examine employee files
to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons; compile
personnel records and prepare reports such as monthly vacation balance,
monthly salary reporting for 401k matching, and quarterly Workers

Workers Compensation Administrator - Oversee the administration of the
workers' compensation program; initial injury reporting; investigate work
related injuries/accidents for insurance carrier; prepare and file injury
report; counsel employee is needed; explain workers' compensation insurance
benefits; follow employee return to work modifications; follow up with
therapy/specialist referrals and complete cases when carriers deems closed.
Safety Coordinator - schedule monthly safety training classes with various
departments in both languages; ensure that all required postings are
visible to all employees; maintain safety files and records; maintain CAL-
OSHA 300 Log; maintain Injury Illness Prevention Program and Hazardous
Materials Programs and update MSDS sheets for all pesticides used in the
vineyard.
Payroll Administrator - Make bi-monthly timecards for the vineyard
department; compile payroll data such as hours worked, piecework and
insurance dues to be withheld from timesheets and other records; compute
wages computed and deductions and post to payroll records; review wages
computed and correct errors to ensure payroll accuracy; record changes
affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverages and loan
payments for each employee to update master payroll records; record date
concerning transfer of employees between departments; prepare and issue
paychecks; review personnel records to determine rates of pay for newly
hired employee and for employees already on payroll; review and approve
payroll deductions; adjust errors and complaints if any.
