Global Project Management / Automation and Control
New Product Design & implementation/Manufacturing Engineering
Senior Electrical Engineer with focus on automation and control in the
manufacturing and production environment. Analytical background with
global perspective. Strong background in plastics extrusion as well as
design, procurement, start-up and project management. Also experienced in
production line project management both domestically and globally.
Analytical and detail oriented. Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Experienced in Allen-Bradley
line of products (hardware, PLC's and software), HMI software and AutoCAD.
Professional Experience
Sealed Air Corporation, Cryovac Division
1988-2010
Food & Protective Packaging
Senior Electrical Engineer
. Led engineering project to upgrade total control system of two existing
extrusion lines as well as design and installation of a third new
extrusion line in Brazil plus a complete new production line in Russia.
All production requirements were met within or under budget and ahead of
schedule.
. Identified and coordinated Value Engineering through standardization of
equipment and design. Concepts were applied to future production line
expansions and additions. This resulted in an immediate cost reduction
of around 10-15%.
. Directed a team of engineers and designers with the engineering, design,
construction, installation and startup of a new $10 MM production
facility. Finished approximately one month ahead of 12 month schedule
and below budget.
. Reduced cycle time on new extrusion production line installation
projects by investigating all aspects of the project from procurement to
fabrication, installation and startup. The schedule was reduced from 18
to approximately 12 months allowing greatly reduced time of product to
market and construction costs were decreased by over 25%.
. Reduced the cost of capital equipment through a study of alternatives to
our existing suppliers and by utilizing these low cost suppliers, were
able to save 35-40% over the price of current equipment suppliers.
. Re-evaluated worldwide compatibility and specification of equipment and
controls. This reduced and ultimately eliminated engineering rework and
provided the ability to negotiate better pricing through larger global
contracts with suppliers. This resulted in a newly developed
standardization of Process and Control Equipment.
. Investigated, identified, and resolved the source of excessive downtime
by analyzing possible electrical/control sources and ultimately
determined it was a process operations SOP causing the problem. Once
the problem was identified and resolved, line yields went from under 70%
to above 90%.
. Implemented and integrated new temperature control system into an
existing production line with minimum downtime. Changes were
transparent to operators and process operation.

Instrumentation/Maintenance Electrical Engineer
Primarily responsible for working with project team as representative of
maintenance instrumentation/electrical engineering group on a new $25MM
production unit. Duties included design suggestions, construction and
start-up participation and spare parts procurement. Other areas of
responsibility included recommendation and specification of instrument and
electrical equipment, system design changes and repair techniques for
improving system reliability, Quality Assurance Supervisor for the
