Currently working at Marietta Power and Water Supply board as an

electrical engineer in the electrical department since December 2009.

My job requires me to track overloaded transformer in the utility center and

compare them with the actual physical transformer.

Our department works with Georgia Power to determine the ownership of a pole

and also to figure out if a light is owned by a customer or some other company.

I am a member of The National Joint Utilities Notification system (NJUNS)

and have attended two meetings for the same.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS: -

Projects

Our group has done a project on “Design of 132kv swichyard”. This

project was done under the guidance of Pyramid Engineers Company. This

project included preparation of layout of switchyard, section of switchyard

equipments, designing of protective system calculation for the system fault level

and earthing calculation for earthing.

Paper presentation

I have presented a paper on the topic “Carbon Nanotubes” which is a topic of

nanotechnology.

Presented a paper in a national level technical symposium on the topic

of “Relays used in power systems”..

Present paper on “Nuclear power generation”.

Project

Our group has done a project on “energy audit”. Our group performed

energy audit in the given premises with help of guides and under the guidance

of DSCL company.

Contraption

In this national level event, it was required to cut a paper ribbon

automatically by using a model involving numbers of stages converting one

form of energy to the other. Model presented by my group involved 18steps

energy. And in this event we won the first prize.

Robotics:

I had participated in the event of robotics during a technical symposium called

‘Xenesis 08’ held in my college.

X Circuit:

In this event, the handmade robots had to successfully pass through different

types of hurdles such as slopes, water, escalators etc. The winner was decided according

to the time taken by the various robots. So the robot required a good speed as well as

adequate torque. Therefore the motors were to be selected in such a way that it could

successfully compromise between speed and torque. I had used the motors of 300 r.p.m.

in this event, for the robot.

X Torque:

This event was the speed-test of the robot. The robot had to cross the finish-line in

the minimum time. The path was in the shape of a guitar. So the robot required to take

sharp turns successfully. The requirement of torque was very small, but a high was

necessary. I used motors of 500 r.p.m. in this event for the robot.

Presented a paper in a national level technical symposium on the topic of “Relays

used in power systems”. And also participated in Robotics and Quiz.

Present paper on “Nuclear power generation”.
