accelerate its contribution to Motorola's cellular phone business. Rebuilt

Progressed from assembly/test to wafer fabrication senior management

performance in many start-up and turnaround operations world-wide.

Fab 6 General Manager (1989-1994)

Rejoined Fab 6 and provided the necessary leadership to a 500 employee,

$130M operating budget fab to reposition it as a profitable and highly

efficient one-micron factory. Improved employee morale, safety,

environmental compliance, process yields, product reliability,

productivity, and costs to Intel best. Successfully led the site selection

team for Fab 12, Ocotillo.

Automotive and Military General Manager (1988-1989)

Refocused automotive product and military customer strategies. Result was

a move in profitability from a loss to positive margin and a gain in both

sectors markets.

Logic Component Manufacturing Manager (1986-1988)

Executed an aggressive company strategic production ramp of the 80286 and

80386 products across five factories while improving yields and speed

distributions. Increased annual revenue over $1 billion.

Die Production Manufacturing Manager (1985-1986)

Created Central Die Production Manufacturing and implemented a strategy

using worldwide factory benchmarks, cross-functional teams, and training

that doubled the factory learning rate.

Arizona/Southwest Die Production Manager (1979-1985)

Provided the planning, leadership and management successfully achieving an

on-budget and on-schedule startup and production ramp in three world class

semiconductor wafer fabs: Fab 6 (Chandler), Fab 7 (Albuquerque), Fab 8

(Jerusalem). Created the first comprehensive skills training organization

that contributed significantly to quality in ongoing operations, new

startups and reduction of undesired employee turnover. Eventually expanded

to Intel University.

Assembly Operations Manager (1977-1979)

Proposed, planned and implemented the first Asian Test Operation in

Malaysia (T3). Performance levels at start-up exceeded those of the best

facility in Intel.
