. Managed IT acquisition of Rasna by PTC - Router upgraded to accommodate

secure data sharing.

. Brought IDSN into building for Internet access using Mosaic as the web

Windows PCs using Sun PCNFS clients to access shared storage connected by

coax cable.

Key Accomplishment

. Designed and built network, literally, including shelves and making coax

cables, during move to new building. Hubs and one router.

Image Resources - San Jose, California ( 10/1990 - 5/1993

Analog to digital image conversion of Micro-fiche and Micro-film

C Programmer and System Administrator.

Wrote all software for company and managed the network.

Environment - startup to 45 users. 386-based Unix Servers and Windows 3.11

PCs, 5 film scanners, hubs connecting data entry computers. Hubs connecting

scanners to 33Mhz/386 PCs running DOS 3.1 requiring knowledge of IRQs,

shared memory addresses and I/O base addresses for network adapters.

Key Accomplishments

. Wrote all software for managing scanning machines, processing images to

de-skew, clean up noise, sense border of image, OCR text, compress and

save to custom TIFF header.

. Late shift manager of 20 deaf people who entered details of scanned

files into Informix database.

. Managed large project with State of New York and FAA putting images on

12" magneto-optical discs.

Degussa Electronics - Morgan Hill, California ( 6/1987 - 10/1990

Phoenix River color fiber-optic terminals running Windows as a task under

Interactive Unix/386.

Key Accomplishments

. Designed network of 9600Baud modems and muxes to connect offices using

terminals and printers.

. Wrote software for accounts payable system.

. Wrote software for month end reports that compared current, budget, and

history. 7 page report (was 12 before I got there, but unusable)

complete with graphs and expectations for next two months based on last

6 months of data.

Barrett's Gift shop - San Jose, California ( 1977 - 1980

Privately owned retail store by Larry Barret - 4 employees

Bookkeeper - after doing analog spreadsheets for 6 months, owner wanted to

computerize the system.

Environment - one 8080 CPU, 64k RAM, 2 double density 8" floppies, running

CP/M.

Key Accomplishment

. Wrote batch file (CBasic command line language) that maintained

inventory on every item, and printed purchase needs based on profit per

square foot to a daisy wheel printer.
