Executive Vice President / member of the Board of Directors 1997-2002
o Based in London, was responsible for a $140M book of US E&S "binding
authority" business and the $85M Alternative Risk Transfer (ART)
reinsurance portfolio of Odyssey Re-Bermuda.
o Instituted a formal "peer review" internal audit function.
o Appointed President of Hudson Insurance Co. with it's $45M book of
program insurance premium and also assigned responsibilities for all
US casualty facultative operations, then generating $35M of single
risk premium and $30M of 'facultative program' business.
o Subsequent to the acquisition of TIG Re in March 1998, designated as
the only Executive VP/Underwriting and nominated to the newly
constituted Board of Directors of Odyssey America Re.
o Under my direction all activities were shifted to a single Manhattan
location in July 1999. Under my supervision, No. American Program
Division (NAPD) substantially re-underwrote all existing business,
subject to newly manuscripted guidelines and referral criteria.
o Instrumental in placing the London and Bermuda companies in orderly
run-off and collapsing a facultative branch structure into a single
location.
o Successfully integrated program reinsurance capacity with paper
issuing capability.
o Eliminated many sub-performing positions replacing them with high
quality staff in a newly reinvigorated corporate culture based on the
concept of teamwork, technology and underwriting profit.
o Successfully re-tooled a loss producing network into a streamlined and
profitable structure.

o Formalized underwriting guidelines and marketing activities for treaty
