WALMART* - MAIN STORE (Division 01)
Assistant Manager 2003- 2010
I am a Proud Assistant Manager of store 1848 that was visited by our
CEO and President Mike Duke. Which has set the standards
for our region for neatness, well stock shelves, customer
service ranking of 86.1. and cleanliness. Directly
responsible for the direct supervision of 7 departments,
Supervisor directly a staff of 22 as well as manage an
entire store of 274 associates. Mentor 2 associates within
the store and 1 out of the store. Maintain compliance,
schedule associate hours, have weekly training meetings to
discuss current issues. Involved in Safety program as the
Management Sponsor. Am trained as a first responder, (CERT)
sponsored by Homeland Security. Maintain the Pest Control
program as well as the High Shrink Matrix and our National
Priorities to maintain integrity through price changes and
mark up and mark down of product. I hire, evaluate and
terminate as well as train all associates on a daily basis
to order merchandise, stock, and maintain a professional
department. Trained in Inventory Control for backroom
warehouse. My departments maintain a sales increase from
+19% to +35%. With this percentage my departments help
bring a quarterly bonus to all associates full time and
part time. I need to be familiar with all areas of the
store as well as Accounting, Human Resources, Invoicing,
Security, how to handle Pharmacy and Vision Center Patients
and understand HIPPA compliance. Liaison to our 2 tenants,
Watch Repair and Subway. I deal with all Facility
maintenance within the store when needed. Travel to other
stores to help out and was selected to join a team of 12 (
for 3 weeks) to enter a store as they were close to joining
the Union and help show and teach them how well the
management team can be and how it should work with the
staff. Store to date has not been Unionized! Maintain a
good consistent communications with Marketing Team on a
weekly basis.
WAL-MART - VISION CENTER (Division 30) Vision Center
Manager 2003- 2008
Directly responsible for the supervision of all Vision Center
Associates, Customer Service, Office P & L and budget,
inventory management, and Doctor relations. Supervise a
staff of between 7 and 10 Associates and try to mentor at
least 3 Associates from either Store 1848 or elsewhere.
Maintain HIPAA compliance, schedule employee hours, have
monthly training classes to discuss issues new and old, and
maintain District leading low shrink honors. Have
participated in Grand Openings of 9 new stores and have had 7
Associates go into the Wal-Mart Management Program. I am
involved in the Division 1 Safety Program as the Management
Sponsor - helping to achieve 284 days Accident Free. Mentor
the Division 1 Claims Manager. Am a CERT first responder
sponsored by Homeland Security. Have worked closely with our
local Chamber of Commerce, Muscular Dystrophy, CMN, Prevent
Blindness and numerous local Health Fairs. Have had 3
Associates go on to enter Optometry School. In 2004-2005 was
the #1 store for sun glasses sales in the Midwest. Have held
the largest in-store Health fare in the Chicagoland area,
raised $750 for Prevent Blindness in 2006. I have had the
opportunity as a Division 30 Manager to be a guest speaker
on Todd Libbra's District Manager Conference Call. Have
three times had the lowest shrink in my District including
the last 2 years in a row.

ELITE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES Human Resource Manager
1995- 2003
Directly responsible for Accounting and Human Resources
functions for 3 separate umbrella companies providing general
office supervision to a staff of 5. Handled all orientation,
recruiting, benefits and payroll for over 100 employees.
Set up the corporation's first ever Health and Building
insurance programs. My review of the company's insurance
policies saved $18,000 in premiums for their building,
equipment and workman's compensation insurance by changing
carriers. Developed the first ever Company Handbook, Safety
Handbook and First Response Manual. Company liaison with
outside Accountants, Bankers and Insurance Agent. Served as
the Plan Administrator for the company's 401[k] program.

Restructured and streamlined all office functions to adapt to
their new computer system. Made the final choices for both
hardware and software for new computer system LAN. Held

inventory control, and purchasing of raw goods, materials
and supplies. In charge of human resource and payroll
functions for 115 total employees while directly supervising

Supervised a staff of 9 office employees. Responsible for
expediting of new orders, the purchase of raw materials and
supplies and maintaining the computer equipment. Handled
human resource functions for a plant of 100 union employees.
I interfaced with the Plant Manager to resolve and
expedite delivery and minimize any potential inventory

employee international company with multiple offices in 3
states as well as Europe. Supervised 14 corporate office
employees in AP / AR, Data Processing, human resources,
payroll and customer service. Was the liaison with outside
accountants, insurance brokers, lawyers and computer service
providers. Solely responsible for all corporate
activities, board minutes and board reports. Developed the
annual "Kar-Rite Appreciation Day" for their top customers

INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES
I enjoy participating in golf, bowling, gardening and being involved
in local community activities. I am a "retired" member of the
Illinois Jaycees, and was the 1984 President of the Elmhurst
Jaycees Women's Chapter. I have been selected as an "Outstanding
Young Woman in America" four times - in 1984, 1985 and again in
2004, and 2005. I am a recent graduate of 3 Citizen's Police Academies
- Villa Park, Lombard the the Dupage County Sheriff's Police Academy. I
have been a volunteer Bowling coach for Young Junior Bowlers at Lombard
Lanes in Lombard (now torn down) as well as a Committee Member for the
annual PBA Spina Bifida Professional Bowling Tournament held in June of
each year. In the past seven years we have raised over $100,000 for the
Northeast Chicago Spina Bifida Chapter.
