and individual and meting monthly for family sessions, which included a

cognitive behavioral approach to juvenile sex offender treatment. As a

well as grief counseling. Note- This was my second time back at the

hospital after call from supervisor to return, they needed me.-2nd shift.

Intensive Family Preservation Specialist- 01/03-07/03

Methodist Home for Children, Wilmington, NC, -Responsibilities included

providing intensive home based therapy, using a family systems

therapeutic approach. Diagnosing using the DSM III, working closely with

the Department of Social Services. I worked intensively with families at

risk of loosing their children for 4-6 weeks.

Shelter Advocate- 05/03-08/03

Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Wilmington, NC Responsibilities

included providing for the safety of abused women and their children who

were the victims of Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis. I provided crisis

intervention services, psychosocial assessment and counseling services

after hours and weekends.

Residential Treatment Supervisor- 01/02-09/02

Yahweh Children's Village, Wilmington, NC Responsibilities included

supervision of a staff of up to 9 in a Level III Residential Group Home,

scheduling, performance evaluation, daily planning of the milieu,

training of workers, evaluation of children for the admission. I

possessed effective leadership and communication skills with parents,

hospitals and the treatment team. Interpretation of policy and procedures

while effectively training staff to new information. I diagnosed

residents using the DSM III, behavior modification training with

III, AFDC/Medicaid Caseworker- 07/85-10/96- New Hanover County Department

of Social Services, Wilmington, NC- As a Child Protective Services Social

Worker I investigated complaints of child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse

and child exploitation. My position involved gaining a great deal of

medical terminology in working with children with Murchison syndrome by

Proxy, Failure to thrive babies, substance addicted newborns, among many

others. I wrote my own court petitions as well as commitment papers. I

conducted home studies for child placement and adoption studies. I

provided crisis counseling and intervention to the families I served. I

conducted a psychosocial assessment of every family that I served to

ascertain their needs. I assisted with guardianship and protective payees

when it involved a disabled adult with an infant or child. As the Human

Services Coordinator III-- I worked as the afterhours CPS social worker

for New Hanover County for three years. I was the first social worker to

pioneer this position from 5pm -8am six days a week. I assessed and

initiated the investigation of all calls after hours involving Child and

Adult Protective Services. I trained the local police and sheriff

department deputies how to conduct investigations of children for child

sexual abuse. As a caseworker for the first year of service at the

department, I assessed the financial needs of clients for the AFDC

program and the Medicaid Program. This position involved being very

meticulous and very numbers oriented and detailed.
