Summer Intern. June 2010 - August 2010

Performed various administrative and dental assistant tasks for 12-15 hours/week. Administrative

work included screening patients and analyzing survey data (50 hours). Dental assistant tasks

included chair-side assisting dentists, primarily an oral surgeon, during procedures and cleaning

instruments (100 hours).

Continued to perform various dental assisting tasks for a variety of dentists on a weekly basis.

UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT June 2010 - Current

Undergraduate Researcher. Created educational presentations and webpages on analytical

Undergraduate Research Assistant. Assisted in a nerve regeneration study under Dr. Roy C. Ogle

(August 2008-May 2009). Tasks conducting spinal cord dissections of neonatal mice, fluorescent

microscopy, and cell culture. Assisted in an ALS study under Dr. JP Bennett (June 2009-May

2010). Tasks included mice brain dissection, laser capture microdissection, and PCR analysis.

Volunteer. Worked in the Cardio Transition Unit stocking supplies and conducting paper work.

Educate student body on health topics affecting the college demographic (safe sex, substance

consumption, nutrition, stress management, etc.) in awareness outreach programs for groups and

Honor Committee Representative (College of Arts and Sciences) April 2010 - Current

One of five representatives for the undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities

include chairing Honor Trials, attending multiple weekly procedural meetings, and interacting

with faculty members.

Honor Senior Adviser. August 2009 – April 2010

Trained new advisers (~ 40) through weekly training session with quizzes. Advised more complex

cases and kept attendance for spring semester.

Managed the Society’s over $250,000 financial assets and presented audit to membership at large.
