Permaculture Certification 2005. Teacher Dave Jacke, author of Edible Forest Garden, taught this
permaculture class for seven weekends in a row. Permaculture is the study of how nature intersects
sustainably with human needs.
Work
Holly Anne’s Deli 6/2003-4/2005. Duties included being a cashier and doing kitchen preparation.
Becker & Becker 1/2007-2/2008 Part-time receptionist. I answered a five-line phone system for Becker&
Becker Law Office and used the transcription machine for paralegal work.
Checklist Cleaning DBA, Green Cleaning Business, 7/2005-Current. Responsibilities include running and
managing my own business in terms of contacts, scheduling, hiring sub-contractors, budgeting, payments
and cleaning.
Community Service
Grand Street Community Arts Founder, 9/2002-Current. Grand Street Community Arts is a non-profit
agency that is located in the heart of my home-town neighborhood in Albany, NY. It hosts YO! Youth
Organics (a summer camp), Youth FX (a film camp) and Kids Club( an afterschool program).
Additionally it has Boarded Up (an outdoors art project), First Friday (a monthly gallery) and the Vacant
Lots Project which makes vacant city lots gardens or other, with permission from the city. As the founder
I spent the first two years networking, building committees and running weekly meetings to start it. I
now serve on the finance committee. www.grandarts.org
Americorps Volunteer in 3/2005-6/2005 for YO! Youth Organics, a summer camp for local Albany
children. Over the summer I co-created the first year of the program with four other volunteers. Activities
included locating and building the garden area, obtaining insurance, advertising the camp, creating the
activities and overseeing the children as a camp counselor.
Awards
Art Award, Albany High School 1999. A four year award of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each year
of college.
